too many fire warriors???

So I play tau and have wondered for a while if an army full of fire warriors and broadsides would scare anyone. That would be 72 fire warriors which could go up to 96 if you used two ethreals and maxed out there bodyguards, and then 9 broadsides. It would be all gun line but terrible for anything that got into line of sight. Well any way let me know what you think.

Too many points on soft units.
I'd only go for 40-50 firewarriors (6 units of 6-8 warriors each) max.

There are too many things like hellhounds, quad-flamer squads, greyhunters, blood angel assault specialist, etc. around to wipeout big tau units in one go.
Firewarriors themselves are too specialized, they cannot fight, they cannot shootdown most vehicles, they aren't that great at shooting heavy infantry. Half to a third of your points on them isn't that great.

9 Broadsides is over kill, and thus starts wasting points. Two units of three, each having a single targetlock [or multi-tracker... the one that lets you shoot at a different unit] is better, that way you can shoot really well at three targets (or well at two and ok at another two).
The third heavy slot can be used for a bunch of sniper-drone teams; they fit the theme (and if you catch a unit of longfangs, vanguard squads, bikers or the backside of a lemanruss or Vendetta, they've made their points back).

Tau need a little of everything, for when the situation comes up.
Unless of course you face a lot of orks and nids; and the mix of only anti-light infantry and anti-ultra heavy is the best.

I completely agree. When it comes to Tau Crisis suits are your best friend. Broadsides are awesome when it comes to taking down armor, but they have no flexibility and are slow. Fire Warriors die quickly unless you put them in a fish, and are unable to deal with armor on their own. So I will repeat that Crisis suits are your best friend. They can be tooled to deal with just about any type of army whether you are facing the horde of chittering space bugs or mech marines.
