Starting FoW - looking at the Finns!

So, my local group of buddies and gamers is looking to jump into FoW en masse, and we're going midwar. I've always been drawn to the story of the Finns during the Winter War and Continuation War. However, as we're all finding out, there is a lot more to getting into this game than it seems, and I'm kind of at a loss.

Does anyone have any suggestions for running a Finnish army? Should I focus on the infantry or go more tank heavy? Are any of the Heroes worthwhile?

Good thing about Finns is you get to choose German and Russian Equipment and maintain fairly high quality infantry as well.

Im no expert on how Finns are in FOW and the only practical advice I can offer is to head on over to the FOW site and sign up to the forum there, lots of Finnish players over there who can give you solid advice.
