Let's say 2 identical dudes
2 savable wounds and 2 power weapon wounds
In the wound allocation, can you decide to put the 2 power weapon attacks on 1 dude and let the other one try to save the other 2 wounds?

If so, you would have possibly 1 death and 1 saved

Thanks

You can do that, but it won't do anything. Check pages 25 and 26 very closely. The sequence would go like this:

A unit of two identical models suffers four wounds, two savable, two not
Identical model A is allocated the two savable wounds
Identical model B is allocated the two unsavable wounds
All groups of identical models are lumped into the same "bucket" and all their saves are rolled together, anonymously
For each unsaved wound in each bucket (including both failed saves and unsavable wounds), one model in the group of identical models that contributed wounds to that bucket must suffer a wound
For each bucket, you must kill the maximum number of models allowed by the nature of the unsaved wounds (taking into account multiple-wound models already wounded, instant death attacks, etc.)

So, if you have two identical models, you can allocate the two savable wounds to A and the two unsavable wounds to B. However, since the two models are identical, they are each exposed to each other's saves. If you end up with two unsaved wounds (which you will, because two of the wounds are unsavable) then you end up with two dead guys (assuming these are W1 models).

And if you had, let's say a sergeant and a dude?

would you end up with 2 deaths?

Assuming that the Sergeant is different in some way, then there would be a "bucket" for the Sergeant, and one for the dude. The wounds would be assigned, Saves attempted for each "bucket" with one model removed for each unsaved wound. So, if the unsavable wounds were put in the dude's bucket, and he is the only model assigned to that bucket, then he will take those unsaved wounds. If the only wounds put in the Sergeant's bucket are the savable wounds, then he will attempt a save against each of them with any failed saves causing a wound on the sergeant.

Remember that in order for models to be "identical" they need to have the same statlines and special rules and wargear. So a sergeant with a bolter is not "identical" to a marine with a bolter, because the sergeant's statline is different in two respects (i.e., A2 instead of A1, Ld9 instead of Ld8).
