I have a CP tournament list coming up in February and I'm trying to put together a solid list I can use then. We're using standard Combat Patrol rules, but we've made a house rule that allows three wound models to participate instead of two-wound only models.

The usual opponents I play against are:

Player 1
Necrons (warrior heavy with scarabs, spyders and a couple lords, possibly a heavy destroyer), Nids (ripper swarm)

Player 2
Chaos (bloodletters, horrors, bearers, masque, changeling, furies)

Player 3
Nids (gaunthorde, stealers, tervigon, a fex or two)

Player 4
IG (chimeras with a single hydra, russies, sentinels, vet spam)
Wolves (thunderwolves, and power builds)
5e Dark Eldar (wyches and haemonculi probably)
and any other army that's the newest and shiniest.

So, with that in mind, here is the list I came up with.

10 warriors
Splinter cannon

10 hellions

4 reavers
blaster

Comments?

I'd also like to hear from Dr. Buffo on this aswell.

I would do something horrifically unbalanced and overpowered, such as:

5 Warriors 110
-Venom w/ 2 Splinter Rifles

Razorwing Fighter 145

Razorwing Fighter 145

400

3 Vehicles, 5 Infantry.

No points for Flickerfields on the Razorwings, but you have the firepower to table other 400 point armies in a few turns. The warriors are just there because they have to be, lol. If your opponent has a strong ranged presence and you are going second I would probably reserve the army. But if going first your opponent shouldn't have much left after your first round of shooting (8 Monoscythe Missiles and 12 Splinter shots is quite a bit).

I don't know Dark Eldar enough to critique your list, but I just wanted to share this one with you :D

mmmm. i like horrifically unbalanced and overpowered. and I want to win. period.

What about using a Talos with chainflails? would that be horribly overpowered?

Well, seeing as your group allows for 3-wound creatures - probably not.

I would be worried that the Talos may not be able to keep up with the rest of your force (or your opponent might be able to get away from it).
