Obliterators, possibly one of the greatest heavy units the game has to offer (IMHO). Expensive and ugly metal models, but a joy to scratch build. So far I've built up a total of 10, with my most recent being down not even an hour ago. And sadly, I've got the bits to build another 8. Three in the immediate future and 5 more when I get another shipment of Terminators and weapons from GW.

So how 'bout it, how do you make yours? Lets get a proper gallery going here!

I made mine by chopping and standing up the GW models.

Here is a size comparison shot while the first Oblit was still a WIP.

Great conversion Mr Jim (sorry Schnitzel, your pic didnt load?)

I didnt use Obliterators for ages cause in 3rd/4th ed Death Guard couldnt take em...............

So I converted mine to Terminators, here is one with a Terminator head, Reaper Autocannon/Chainfist. Ignore the Nurgle aligned Skitarii...

Stunning conversions, both of you!
You're is terribly intimidating Jim. He's gigantic!

I fixed my pic now... My 'I wanna hug' pose Oblit looks quite unimpressive already.... Haha.
Gotta post some pics of the rest of them soon.

Nar man, just a little re-pose and he will look awesome. Have the face/head looking down the gun sight and put his left hand down 45 degrees.

I dunno why I thought the 'hug' look would be good. I was thinking duel-weilding pose, but obvious fail. Haha. Gonna have to pluck that head for one that can look to the side and reposition the arms. Maybe throw in some chose swords on the power fist.... that looks great on some of my other ones.

The best ones that I have seen have been converted from standard Tech Marines (which is what they are supposed to be originally I think). With all of the servo arms, you just put all the varios bits and the end and it looks sweet.

Honestly I think the current GW obliterator models are very nice. I own 9 of them and I think the key to assembling them is to blend in their weapons with greenstuff.

I have also seen some decent conversions as well and I think its best to start with Chaos Terminators as your base rather than chaos marines. I am unsure what site I saw some on that were made using this method but they looked pretty awesome and fit the same size and basing requirements that the current GW models do.

I love both of those conversions!

I think its a "MUST" to convert your own Obliterators the models are horrible (IMHO)

I hate the standard oblit model but the standing conversion makes it look way better.

It has been painted since then, and I have made another one, but not as good.

I actually like the old model ones, I like to think of them as more machine than man rather than these new hulking mutated guys. I just rebased my old ones and they're good to go :D
