I've recently started on my third Stegadon and I hate painting monsters in the same colour as the last one so I've decided to go with green this time, one of the other ones is brown and the last is red, I really like the washes and have been using them frequently. However I can't find a green wash so I was wonder whats the recommended colour of wash for green?

theres the "Thraka Green" GW wash, I also like to use GW green ink (altho that might be harder to get) because I like the "shiny" effect on scales, I only use Citadel paints so those are my suggestions, good luck!

The hobby store I use never has that wash, why I don't know.

You could try to have your store order it for you. You could also go to an art store and see if you can find some Liquitex Artists Colors. They make a line of clear colors that work well as washes. I also like to airbrush them on.

Use a thinned black. It'll look real good. Especially brought back to color with highlights.

I haven't used any washes aside from GW, but it can't be total crap. I used some of the Thraka Green wash in a GW store, it works quite well! I've been turned to Valejo for paints, but stick with GW for washes. I believe Valejo also has a green ink if you can find it.

Spray model white, use a very thin coat of dark angels green. I go with 50/50 water and paint. Then add highlights where you want them. Thats how I have been doing my 1st batch of orcs and they came out very well. try it on a spare model 1st just to see if you like the effect first :D,

Try a diluted red wash as its a contrast colour so should make the green scales stand out more.

For my nurgle chaos warriors I used multiple washes of Thraka Green, Badab Black, and Delvan Mud. the end result was this.
