Here's a couple pictures from a tutorial I wrote for magnetizing Terminator bases. The full tutorial is available on miniwargaming.com (http://www.miniwargaming.com/x.php?x=ptgraham&y=http://www.miniwargaming.com/&c=bols) with (free) login.

Where do you get those tiny magnets? I would like to use them on some tanks so that I can interchange weapons, but I can't seem to find them anywhere.

I've found them at Michael's (crafts and hobby store chain) and think I saw them at Hobby Town USA as well. Hope that helps ya :)

Thanks... Now I need to start figuring out how to do that so that it looks good.

I get my magnets from store.miniwargaming.com (http://www.miniwargaming.com/x.php?x=ptgraham&y=http://store.miniwargaming.com/category/rare-earth-magnets/&c=bols)... the ones I used are:

1/16" x 1/32" Magnets (http://www.miniwargaming.com/x.php?x=ptgraham&y=http://store.miniwargaming.com/product/disc-magnet-super-small.html&c=bols")
1/8" x 1/16" Magnets (http://www.miniwargaming.com/x.php?x=ptgraham&y=http://store.miniwargaming.com/product/disc-magnet-super-small.html&c=bols")

Neat idea.
Have you an easy way of keeping the bases matched up if you remove them or is it a "go fish" effort to reunite the correct base and Terminator?

You could write their name on the front :p

I use Hasselfree Miniatures; their 50 magnet deal is excellent.

Nice work, although I'm not quite understanding why you would magnetize the base (say vs. the weapon arms and such). What other base would you put them on?

So that you can take them off their bases for Space Hulk and put them on for standard 40k ;)

Thanks for the idea. Now I know the first thing I'm doing after assembly.

Well, the first I'll do if I haven't hacked them up for parts.

Like someone else said, its so that you can use the Terminators for Space Hulk and 40k. The large round bases for 40k are a little big for the Space Hulk squares (see below).

thats great, me and a friend were talking about how best to attach the SH termies to 40mm bases... I was thinking magnets and he was thinking of just pinning. I think the later would be easier but i think magnets with some green stuff on the base around the termies original base would look better and be easier to see which model fit to which base. good work and thanks for posting this!

Gotcha - didn't know they we're to be used multi-game. Great job as I said before, very clean work.
