hey guys, looking at getting back in to fantasy since rediscovering 2 boxes of unfinished saurus. the list i have come up with for you to have a look at bases itself around what i have and a minimum expenditure to get it on the table at a respectable points limit (~2000 to 2500). so:

Mage Priest
-higher state of consciousness (immune to non magical attacks)
-Focused Rumination (+1 power dice)
-unfathomable presence (Magic resistance 3)
-attle satandard bearer

Saurus Scar veteran
-sword of the hornet
-bane head
-cold one
-light/ armour and shield

20 temple guard
-full command

3 x 12 skink skirmishers
-loadout undetermined

7 cold one cavalry
-full command

1 x 3 salamanders/razordons
(undecided)

2 x 25 saurus
-HW and Shield
-full command


any suggestions on how to finish off the list or any pitfalls i've fallen into would be great. also i've not played fantasy since 5th ed if anyone is interested ;)

Higher state of consciousness isn't really useful unless you use a solo-slann. Additionally, MR3 isn't as helpful as it was last edition. The more common disciplines tend to be Mystery and Becalming Cogitation. That said, focused rumination is definitely the best of them all.

In terms of fluffing out the army, chameleon skinks are pretty powerful. If you find yourself getting torn up by war machines, look to them for help.
