Granite City Waaagh!Fest 2012 Warhammer 40K Pub Tournament

Hey all!

Been feverishly working behind the scenes to once again offer a fun and relaxed tournament for those who like to just have a few fungus brews and throw some dice (sometimes they even land on the tabletop!). We're taking over McCann's Food And Brew Pub in St. Cloud, Minnesota once again to play on some really neat tables, (we love terrain out here) meet new people, throw some dice and enjoy some great food and drink.

Registration opened over at Waaagh!Fest.com (http://www.waaaghfest.com/) a couple of weeks ago but I haven't made an "official" announcment until now. All of the details and rules can be found on the website.

Part of the fun this year is the Terrain Board contest were having to help add new and interesting tables to the event. Anyone interested can design and build a board they want to bring to Waaagh!Fest. We'll be posting a voting gallery on Waaagh!Fest.com (http://www.waaaghfest.com) and the winning table gets to be placed in the UFC Octagon Ring for the final "Cage Match" between the top two players! (It's really the dance floor but it is modeled after a UFC ring ;) ) I'll post an update when they go up for voting.

I want to take a quick minute as well to thank Taytonclait (http://taytonclait.deviantart.com/). He's graciously allowed us to use one of his fantastic pieces on our poster to promote the event. If you haven't already, you should go over to his Deviant Art gallery (http://taytonclait.deviantart.com/) and get an eyeful of all that coolness. (he did twist my arm for some bitz though, like any good big mek should :) )

We had a great showing last year and I'm expecting us to have to expand the available slots from 32 to 40 players. If you have any questions, email ([email protected]) me or post here and I'll get ya the answers you seek.

Three more slots left in the touranment! We are entertaining the idea of opening the list to 40 players (we have the tables/room) if the demand is shown - heck we still have three months left til the event!

Hey all.

As part of the Granite City Waaagh!Fest Pub Tournament we had a terrain competition. People could build boards and enter, the winner will get to use their board as the main event table in the championship match in a sunken, UFC style octagon dance floor - complete with disco ball and lights. We're looking for people to go over and vote for their favorite.

Granted, there are only two entries but we promised to post them and do it all by public vote. Hopefully it'll catch on and we'll have more next year. I'm thinking about having some sort of prize to entice more people to try it.
