Hey guys! I'm working on a 500 point Forge Father and Marauder list to try and get some of my mates into wargaming. In retrospect the yellow has been a pain, but its always good to challenge yourself!

Tried a Blue FF too, just because I had a hankering. Think I'm getting neater! I've finished a Flamer guy and a Mjolnir, they were a lot of fun to paint. I'm also working on my Huscarl who is a Dreadball mini conversion and the Marauder Leader. Will post a battle report when these small armies are finished, I'm also going to do a list for 40k as well.

Really nice painting, I prefer your yellow scheme over the blue. It really makes the models pop out nicely. I love the idea of dwarves in space, but alas I didn't ever see the squats as I didn't start until 4th edition 40k. Mantic has a fantastic habit of filling in the areas GW are missing out on.
I love your idea of 2 armies to help twist others to play too. Look forward to seeing more of your models.

Thanks guys! Don't worry I'm sticking with the yellow paint scheme, just experimenting a bit :) I love dwarfs but never thought dwarfs in space could work, but Mantic totally managed to change my mind! Will try and upload more pics today, I'm really enjoying this project.

Yeah I wasn't immediately sold on the steel warriors, but just adding the drakkarim helmets makes so much difference. But with the legs as well, I think they are awesome minis! The rest of the range is spot on though. Why not have another bash at them Lobster, I can tell you how I got this scheme if you like. Failing that If you go on the Golem Painting Studio site, they offer amazing quality at a very affordable price. I'm studying at their Academy, some amazing artists there!

Nearly finished the Forge Fathers now, just need to finish off the Huscarl and the Stormrage Thane and that's 500 points. Then I will concentrate on the marauders!

Well I've now finished my 500 points of Forge Fathers, I'ts time to work on the Marauders and work more on my Eldar. I'm still interested in getting a Space marine list to use my Forge Fathers for 40k, so I'm still going to be adding to them. I'll either do some more steel warriors, Jotunn or Iron Ancestor next I think. I've absolutely loved painting these guys up, been a great project. The Huscarl was the hardest to paint, such awesome detail on a really small mini, I didn't realise just how small the Dreadball minis are until I saw them in the flesh! Thats a good thing though, seems mantic have finally got the hang of making everything scale well within the range! Will try and get a finished shot of the army.
