Hello,
we would like to introduce ourselves. Ghost Train Games is a rising effort that assembles enthusiastic and creative gamers with decades of accumulated experience. Being players ourselves, we strive to make fans who join us in our fascinating world feel the same passion, fun and emotion than we do creating this game.

Our first game is Alternative Civil War: 1861. Alternative Civil War: 1861 is a 28mm scale miniature wargame set in an alternate background where impossible science collides with ancient magicks and weird beings clash with courageous soldiers over the American Civil War battlegrounds.

We happily announce the release of the first version of our Alpha Ruleset. We aim to make a thrilling and fast-paced game where players have to be on the edge 100% of the time.

Alternative Civil War: 1861 uses a d20-based one-model-at-a-time turn-based structure with one active player while the other one is able to make reactive actions, creating a dynamic and exciting battle. There is a Tactical Reserve that allows the activation of special orders, the rerolling of dice or the use of abilities, which increases the options of the players. But beware, as the Tactical Reserve does not replenish each turn, players must administer it for the entire battle.

The rulebook will be freely and fully downloadable, and during this Alpha stage, we would like to receive comments, ideas and suggestions from everyone. Our creative process will be open (although we have the foundations and direction of the game very clear). Do you have in mind some concept you would like to see in game? Definitely contact us! We want to study every idea, we look forward to hearing your thoughts.

The Alpha stage will be running for a couple months, when we will start our Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign, during we will release the Beta stage.

You can download them on http://ghosttraingames.com/the-game/the-rules/

You can, of course, check more about the rules at http://ghosttraingames.com/

In a couple days, we will release the starter kit profiles, so you can have a few testing games. Remember we are eager to receive all your feedback!

Thanks in advance.

Hello guys.
As a “thank you” for you, our first supporters, we wanted to show you some of the models of factions to come (this is not only about North vs South!) and to receive your vote in the poll we are doing about what model to go for. We do present you 3 options of a model, and the one with most votes will come to life, with the look chosen and rules fitting it.
You have the full info in our Facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/GhostTrainGames) , check it out!

Here's a WIP for the next model we will release.

The model itself is not the guy but the gun. It is a M1819 Halls, one of the first breech-loading rifles, that participated in the Mexican-American War where it was infused by a malevolent spirit.
The Halls starves for lifes and souls, turning its wearer into a raving maniac that neglects its own safety in order to provide the weapon with its grim harvest. When the miserable man falls in battle, which ussually don’t take too long, the malignant ghost compels another poor soul to carry it and continue the slaughter.

We’re not yet sure of its name: We’re discussing around “The Doomed Rifle”, “The Cursed Rifle”, “The Bedeviled Rifle” and I personally like “The Black Halls” or “The Bedeviled Halls”. Would you like to help us to decide it? Check out the discussion at our Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/GhostTrainGames) page or send us a message with your opinion via Twitter (@GhostTrainGames) or email ([email protected]).5589
