Hi everyone,

I am in the process of creating a gaming table. But I didn't want the conventional table like a cityfight or a green countryside board. Instead I'm thinking of a wierd surreal Harlequin or Daemon world, sort of like Alice in Wonderland (Acid edition) or something out of Salvador Dali's mind.

As for color wise, the palatte will be black, white and shades of grey. No other colors.

I have drawn out some concept art and I will need some help for some additional scatter terrain ideas and what materials should I use for terrain creation of this sort.

-Animation posing dolls used as statues or corpses.
-Geometrical shapes as buildings and scatter terrain pieces.

-The forest made out of square sticks, with checkered platforms shaped to become leaves.
-The clock is suspended in the air and spewing out clock hands and gears on to the black inky river.

Sounds interesting, look forward to seeing it progress.:) Great idea for a board really, Harlequin themed I mean.

I'd personally replace the white with a nice purple or red. But I love the idea :D

I wouldn't go for just greyscale on this board, as it will possibly become a bit bland. Maybe just a few splashes of colour on individual pieces of terrain. Love the surrealism idea though.

I'd avoid a straight grid as well, as that breaks away from the surreal aspect. Maybe something like this?

Probably without the red dots though. I'd put money that if you had the straight lines, a lot of your opponents would end up following them, but they are far more likely to play normally on something like this.

Modelling the terrain for advantage... now that is a new, over competitive concept :P

Here are some W.I.P scatter terrains. Anymore cool/weird stuff I can add?

If it's in this video - it NEEDS to be on your table.

how about some area terrain that looks like something just dropped into the material and it is doing the iconic splash and ripple.

Great work mate! The effect is pronounced enough to give someone parallax motion sickness: in short I think it's smashing.
