Hey folks!
Well let me start off by saying this isn't my main army, but is slowly working its way into the foreground as far as my forces are concerned. I have a HUGE Forge World Death Guard army that I am forever working on, and my Apocalypse theme is a Nurgle / Khorne alliance, so I thought that it's quite imperative that I start a FW World Eaters force.

My World Eaters still retain their Legion colors, as they worship Khorne in his aspect of martial honor. As such, I have planned more then simply an army of Berserkers. As I'm writing this I've finished a squad of 10 World Eaters Tactical Marines, and I'll be building a unit of 8 World Eaters Chosen as soon as pieces arrive. For now, enjoy these pics and I invite you to have a look at my Photobucket for more pictures of my World Eaters, Death Guard, Renegade Militia, and Daemons. Thanks for the look!

Love 'em. Especially the blue colors gives them a much different feel than those countless oter WE armies.

Dude, those berserkers look incredible!

The terminators also look good, but the photos are too blurry to see properly :(

These models are awesome! I like your painting style. Sort of John Blanche's... dirty and gritty but artistic at the same time.

Good work!

Very dark and gritty feel to them, judging from these minis those soon to come chosen will be really interesting!

These look fantastic! I'm a huge fan of the gritty painting style. It just makes them look like they are warriors instead of generic armor suits off the showroom floor in my opinion.

Thank you everyone! Yeah, my camera kind of... Well, sucks. I'm trying to get some proper photographic equipment, but money's tight these days :(. Anyhow, I completely forgot to throw a link to my Photobucket up (d'oh!), so here you go!

The last Terminator should be done today, and then it's going to be a little while before more get painted... My Ultramarines Blue dried up. I just bought that, too... But stay tuned, I'm working on a Brass Scorpion that's really coming along!

Nice minis! I did notice one of your FW minis had sandbags on the base. I hand make a lot of my own sandbags too for terrain, etc. One of the easiest tricks I've found to get a good 'burlap sandbag' sort of texture to each sandbag without having to do tones of individual cross-hatch marks is to take a piece of old T-shirt cloth and press it into the clay / green stuff to imprint the texture on it. I usually make a long strip of clay about the width and thickness I want the sand bags, impress the cloth and remove it, then cut the individual bags using scissors and sculpt / touch up the ends of the bags to model gravity, etc. Works out very nicely and it's a real time saver. Thanks again for sharing the cool pics.

These are great - I always figure the WE never bothered repainting their armour it just kind of went red because of all the gore they got covered in!

Looking really good - Keep 'em coming!

The bases are actually from Dragonforge, I'm a big fan of the Wasteland II series and I'm basing my army along that trench warfare feel, especially since it's a glorified Siege of Vraks force.

Thank you all for the comments. I think I'll be working on some Renegades while I wait to pick up more paint for my World Eaters, so expect to see some Traitor Guard soon! The nice thing about this forum is I can post more then just power armour :D

Thank you everyone. I think the problem with the Berserker picture is more the horrible flash then anything. I'll try to get better ones! I've gotten some Renegades painted up, I'll also try to snap some pics of those too.

Alright,
Here's some WIP pictures of my Renegade Militia. They're turning out good so far, but I'm still iffy on the scheme. As they're dedicated to both Khorne and Nurgle, I found it difficult to find a scheme to fit in the middle of the road, so I was thinking of painting them reminiscent of Blood Pact.

They were originally in a corrupted Cadian scheme, but I felt it's been done to death. At this point I'm kind of throwing my hands in the air and sticking with this. Any suggestions? Like it? Hate it? Better suggestions?

No pictures, but an update. I just got done priming my Renegades super heavies. This includes 2 Malcador Defenders, a Malcador w/ Battle Cannon, Valdor Tank Hunter, and a Minotaur Twin-Earthshaker. I was going to prime the rest of my Renegades, but my hands are numb and I don't feel like spraying another 100+ models, lol. I'll have pictures at some point.

Well here's some pictures of a Malcador Defender I've started on. Mind you it's VERY WIP and the colors as quite dark still, but you can kind of get the gyst. It's color scheme will be tan / red to match my Renegades, and I'll be adding a lot of weathering and such to make it look properly ancient (like 10,000 years ancient).

I'm actually at ZP constantly. Usually every monday. I doubt I'm going today, unless you're up for it. People show up infrequently but I've been buying comics and minis from George since I was 7, lol.

Update time! Here's some new pictures of the Malcador. As you can see, it's coming along. The camo scheme is done and I've been picking out the details now. I'm thinking about picking up MIG pigments for oil stains, mud, etc. etc. I've never used it, anyone have any advice on how to use it or whatnot?

I love this malc, the subtle use of the red to convey both the idea of a camo scheme and khorne blood red is impressive.

They are soooo gorey. Phenomenal.

I really like how dark the terminators are. Not a huge fan of the missile launcher being longer, but that's just me.

Update! Well, I'm just about done with Defender #1. I've done a test for a mud recipe I came up with and thought I'd share with everyone. I'd love some opinions on this so I know if it's worth continuing with. Thanks!

Update time! Alright, the Malcador is finally finished. Here's some pictures of the final piece, and I'll also be posting pictures of my next model on the painting table. I've also changed the name of the thread to show this is more then just World Eaters now, LOL.

Another update, I guess you could say. Here's some new additions (sort of) to the armies.

First up is the completion of my Hellhound Squadron. I had the two FW kits sitting around for a year and finally decided to piece them together yesterday. It'll be a nice addition to the table (especially against my friend's 'Nids :D ).

http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh166/DuskRaider/IMG00259-20090814-0241.jpg

The next is a new piece for my World Eaters army. I won this sucker on eBay last week for a really good price, and he's finally arrived to cause devastation to the enemy's ranks! I present to you, the World Eaters Dreadnought.

http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh166/DuskRaider/IMG00260-20090814-0242.jpg

The previous owner made him fully magnetized, so his torso, arms, even head, come off. I thought that was a nifty little trick, lol.

Haha, Bolt Thrower FTW. Thanks for the comments, guys.

I'll probably start painting again soon, I had to switch my son's room out with my hobby room. On the plus side, I have a room twice the size of my old one. On the down side, the ceiling is peeling (a rhyme, hah) and has lead in it. Tomorrow I'm trading a ton of spare pieces for my friend's 8' X 4' gaming table, so I'll be making this a game room proper, lol.

Next up after that will probably be concentrating on my Cities of Death buildings more, but I do want to get the rest of my World Eaters fully painted. I did a quick list on Army Builder and I have around 2600 pts worth... Not bad for an army I've only spent around $300 on, have only been collecting for around 6 months, and is completely Forge World. eBay rocks!

fantastic work mate, really love the various tanks, just a few crits for you:

The mud is too thick for the amount you have on the tank, if the mud is that sticky more of it would be in between the tracks and there would be far less all over the model, i'd recommend thinning it out a little bit and going for a slightly smoother look.

If your looking to improve your mud technique the best way is to put a small rough layer like yours all over the tracks etc, but use a matt varnish to give it the appearance of dry mud, then do a thinner mud in gloss varnish to simulate wet mud. Its really up to you, but those are my thoughts :)

and the autocannon is far too big for the world eater...

love zhufor though, and the sheer amount of blood your world eaters are covered in :P

Thanks guys... Yeah, I even thought the mud was a bit too thick. Crud. I'll have to figure a way to get it off and start over again. And the Autocannon? I actually trimmed that down too... A lot. Hah.

break it off so that some is left and just go over it, use a chisel or something to remove it. Dont know how fragile the trench rails are though...
