What do you think of this - actually for a friendly game but the opponent has been bringing 20 terminators to 1500 pointers so I'm in for the arms race!

The Cunning Plan:

turn 1 - the troops mount landraiders. 2 Head for objectives or soft kill points. Kharn with Berzerkers. 1 LR in fire support/objective hold.

Turn 2 or more depending on reserve rolls! Abbadon with plasma and slaanesh teleport in onto icon and charge the THSS I'm sure will be there. Their higher init will put off a counter charge. the Oblits come in close on icons also and blast stuff - maybe vehicles if necessary.

Turn 3 Blood for the bLood God!

Alternate Plan - Oblits on in fire support positions with Chosen.


Any thoughts?

Im assuming you want feedback on how to optimize the list.

Things I specifically like:
1. 5x plasma..Can they be given FNP???
2. 2x3 oblits

Things I would metion:
1. It looks like you only have one icon... for flexibility I would have icons in every squad of troops, especially since your DSing two oblits.

2. I like Chaos terminator squads with the following. Combi Meltas, Chainfist, powerfist 3x power weapons. Send one of those squads after the TH/SS termies. The power weapons make the TH/SS hurt, and hopefully your marked Tzeentch.

3. I wouldn't keep the LR sitting back, its too expensive. put something in it and move forward, perhaps move slower to provide supporting fire.

4. The temptation is to rush forward, don't do it. Sit back turn one and fire away with the LR. his Termies will most likely be in a LR as well, try to wipe out his supporting armour with the Lascannons (i.e. Rhinos, Razorbacks) Don't exchange LR fire. The reason is because this will make his TH/SS termies be all alone with no support later in the game.

4b. After sitting back turn one, deep strike the Oblits close to his lines. Hopefully they won't scatter too bad. Then you can get some melta pot shots on his LR. Then once he is out pounce on him (probably turn 3)

Chosen with plasmas are specialist, not bad setup, but watch out for those 1's.

Terminators are in a land raider so do not need the reaper cannon as it will be locked away, so they won't be ranged shooting. Best give them combi weapons and a heavy flamer. The odd power or chain fist would be ok as well for smacking walkers and armour. I think mark of tzeentch is best, you get a better invulnerable save. Khorne, well they have enough attacks and slannesh means they don't always go first, only against MEQ's anyway. Nurgle could be fun though.
