Tourney list: 1850 pts. Slaaneshi CSM

So there's a tourney coming up soon and I wanted to put together a CSM army list to use in it. Now it might look cheesy, having two lash princes and 9 oblits, but hey, tourneys are competitive after all!

A list with many vehicles/monsterous creatures will be your biggest threat. Focus on destroying them with your obliterators ASAP. Demolisher cannons will be a major threat as they can cause massive damage to any unit in your list except the daemon princes. Plasma and melta will also be very dangerous. Have fun at the tournament.

Sorc > DP in this list. Hide him in a Rhino squad and Lash away. The DP only has T5 and is an obvious target.

Look into some Lesser Daemons for cheap scoring Troops.

You are critically lacking against armor. You need meltas since lascannons can only do so much.

How about I take 3 units of 2x oblits rather than 3, then use two squads of 3 termies equipped with combi-meltas?

Having the termies gets me a bit more melta shots at tanks and MC. I've never thought about having sorcs, but you may be right; they look more survivable.

I would try to get a Champ w/ PSword & Doom Siren on your 8-man squads... he will boost their damage output significantly.

I would keep the 9 Oblits but, like Chum said, go with Lash Sorcerers over the DP's.

is there any way you could swap out a noise marine squad (or two) for 10 Chaos Marines w/ MoS & 2 Meltas? I think they are similarly priced but i havent looked at the CSM codex in ages. That change would really help you vs. lists with one or more Land Raiders.

Sorcs will go with the two Sonics squads, one in each. CSM squad will work on popping tanks, while the Doom Siren NMs will assault and take advantage of their Champ and I5. Oblits will stay back and/or deepstrike if needed and the Termies will DS near enemy armor to hopefully take it out.

I think that this list is much stronger than the first and that your troops now have a much more active role in the game. I would rather see 9 oblits over 6 + 3 termies, but that requires points that i dont see you being able to get.

Now the issue seems to be little in the way of real CC v tough opposition (ie Tyrannid MCs).

Those DPs would have been useful there.

However, I like your list. It has a nice synergy. Move those MCs with lash and Obliterate them to death.
