How do?

So my local gaming club, Hydra have organised an X-Wing Tournament to be held on the 29 November.

5 rounds, 60 minutes for each, £3 entry.

Any questions, feel free to ask!

Location is High Brooms Working Men's Club - which equates to cheap beer for after the tournament.

I assume 100 points?

Yes indeedy do!

The venue is no more than two minutes walk from High Brooms railway station, which is on the mainline from London.

Although I will be in attendance, I won't be partaking, as I have the option of overtime at work, and I can't afford to turn down the money!

Hm. Looks like the train would cost me about £25.

That's a weeny bit steep. Sorry.

Did this event go ahead ? How did it go ? I was just wondering, as I am local to Tunridge Wells and new to X-Wing. I hope the event was a success.

Hello and welcome!

Sadly, was cancelled in the end.

But, exciting news, we are getting a new FLGS in T Wells, which should compliment the Hydra Gaming Club quite nicely!

If you also GW, there's a significant chance you know me already!

Hey, Mr Mystery - I have wondered if we have met. Were you running some demo games at Cavalier this year ? I spoke to a chap on a table with 40k and Fantasy games running about X-Wing, and funnily it was that conversation that maybe me buy the game, and break my GW only virginity.

I used to GW, but like a lot of folks, I'm not sure if I still do, ... have not played 40k in years, or Fantasy for about 6 months.

What exactly is a FLGS ???

I went along to the Tunbridge Wells gaming club a few times last year. They had a nice setup, and I would of kept going, but I am waiting for my son to be old enough to bring him along. He will be 6 in March, so nearly there. He can play X-Wing, although he does not really play to win. It is quite funny. It takes ages to hunt his ships down when they are flying around like they're drunk. Try predicting the moves of a 5 year old pilot !

FLGS - Friendly Local Gaming Store.

Our one is called Asgard Games (FOR ASGARD! Shall now be my shopping cry), and if you're familiar with Tunbridge Wells, it's going to be where Britelite Windows used to be, just down from Chris Potter Guns on Camden Road.

If you're a long time denizen - the very old EM Models shop, just outside the plaza out the back of the Royal Victoria Place Foodcourt.

I for one am excite, and shall spend much pennies.

That is AWESOME news ! Wow. I had no idea that was what FLGS meant. I tried to go to a 'FLGS' in Maidstone when I heard about them at the start of the year (cannot remember what they were called). But when I went there they looked pretty closed down. Damn shame, because there was loads of interesting stuff in the window.

I know the road well and will lookout for it's opening. I really hope it works out.

Yeah, No Man's Land is dead and gone.

Quite looking forward to when Asgard Games opens up.
