It was more for transport then anything, when in action they'll be comming off the base.

Very nicely painted gaurdsmen, very well done highllights (even if a little cartoony for my tastes).
I imagine that these would come it very handy for transportation around the tables in a tournement. In fact, depending on how many gaurdsmen you have, they might come it handy to move them around while on the table, might speed things up a little.

Thats the idear. Nothing worse then waiting for someone to unpack 2000pts of Orcs from a GW carry case lol

Only if you like your opponent getting 6 models under the small blast template. I played a game against someone who thought it was a great way to move his big mobs of orks around. After my second turn of shooting he took them off the trays and spaced them out. If I was building a display board for an Imperial Guard army I might consider using them as 8 troopers + heavy weapon squad would look nice all ranked up together.
