well our local gaming club is hosting its first tournament, which is awesome. I wanna make sure i am bringin my a game, cause the braggin rights will be huge, and there is nothing like struttin your stuff in front of your friends. Anyway back on topic, i made a few changes to my normal tourney list and am wondering what ya'll think.

the Dreads come in on turn one in opponents deployment zone and knock out transports/tanks, will prolly leave the storms in reserve and deepstrike them in order to keep them alive longer, they are my quick scoring unit. the sniper scouts sit on my obj and try to pin units, and the God Squad in the Redeemer go headlong into the belly of the beast. What ya'll think?

Are you outflanking the Redeemer and Vindicators? Otherwise, why bring Khan?

The Vindicators cannot outflank. ("All units in your army lose Combat Tactics special rule for the ability to outflank" Tanks do not have Combat Tactics) However, all Dedicated Transports CAN outflank when using Kor'sorro Khan.

I have always liked the idea of Terminators outflanking...

Khan also grants Furious Charge and Hit n' Run to the squad he's joined- that alone is worth his points combined with this weapon.

Hmmm...

I am not sure what you are doing with the Librarian with Vortex of Doom. Hv 1 Blast with 12" is hard to successfully pull off.

To make your Librarian effective with Vortex, the Libby needs to be on a bike. However, a drastic change to the list must occur to pull this off...

The Bikes can still claim- minimum number of 5 guys. Also, Kor'Sorro and the Codicer can be attached, making them a very effective lightning strike squad. Combined with Hit n' Run, they can escape combats they don't want to be apart of (and ZOOOOM away). Furious Charge will allow them to take on just about anything. The 3 Melta Shots and the Vortex will be powerful.

You still have 3 Drop Pods- you do not have to Drop Pod the Thunderfire Cannon, you can just have that appear somewhere. (Some people don't like this tactic. If that is a Serious problem, then I would change the Bikers: Drop the combi-melta, and take two flamers. Then upgrade the Drop Pod to a Deathwind Launcher). The Bikes can outflank, and same with the Redeemer!

think i am gonna drop khan and go back to what i am used to, the hestan route. Basically the same tactics, just takin a little more sure fire AT. I know the camo cloaks on the storm scouts are kinda superfluous, but it ensures survivability of a 5 man squad in cover on an objective when the opponent is pourin his whole shooting phase into one squad trying to make me lose the obj.

I would get some Hv Flamers in there... re-rolling to wound Hv Flamers Rock!

If you can get 'em on the dreads or the Storms, that would be best.

yeah, i originally had flamers on the dreads, may try to squeeze them in. ok dropped the MB's on the scouts and the heavy bolter in the scouts and put heavy flamers on the dreads
