i've painted plastic models with citadel paints and foundation paint
i've sprayed a layer of hardcoat varnish
i've waited 4 hours
i've sprayed a layer of purity seal to remove the glossy effect
and bang! catastrophe:eek::mad::eek:

all those models now looks whitish kinda snowy or dusty

on some models i've put 2 layers of hardcoat and those are fine.

Anyone had this problem? Is this a bad varnish bottle or am i doing something wrong?

what can i do? for the models? for the bottle?

any ideas?

Thanks!

This has happened to me before. Since then, I always heat the can up by running it under hot water for a few minutes, shake the can for a few minutes, and ALWAYS test spray.

I had this problem, too.
To regain the shining of metal colors you have to paint it again. :(

To save normal colors you can use washes and thinned inks, to "wash" off the varnish dust.

To avoid it, spray from high above (at least 30cm), just one layer and let it dry.

Maybe this thread can be moved to the Modelling and painting section. ;)

You bet i will test!

I had great results with the hardcoat so i may have been loose thinking its gonna be fine instead of letting it dry on some models and not that many...

So its not my bottle, they all do that if you dont heat or shake at least 5 min right?

My plastic models still look bad but at least, i wont do the same error twice!

Thanks
