25000 points is not too many. Lord Khorne cares not from whence the blood came. But any man who has the time and patience to paint these to a reasonable standard has my respect.

Having said that my friend and I can field 10000+ odd points of super heavys in Apoc including a Warlock, a Reaver, a Revenant, a Wolfhound, a Baneblade, a thunderhawk, a Scorpion, a leviathan and one of the Psycho AdMech things from BoLS Lords of battle.

I reckon in an Apoc game, WHERE WE GOT FIRST TURN... we could table this army.

Too much is never enough. What this enormous collection allows you to do is to tailor your list to whatever specifications you want without buying a single new model. I admire your perserverance in amassing this army.

It'll be wonderful when the new Tyranid codex comes out. You've got enough to make sure you can play and test whichever builds you want ;)

Truthfully, I had to answer this with #3. Blood for the Blood God. Follow that advice and you'll never go wrong.

With any other army, I'd probably say yes, but with 'Nids, it's a defininte NO, purely because, if felt like it, you and your friends could have a massive, weekend-long Apocalypse game of you vs. everyone else and re-create a good portion of a hive fleet attacking a planet. Tell me that wouldn't be epicly awesome.

only problem with it is probably finding someone to play that many points against hehe

also - i want pictures for proof!!! ;)

You can never have too many 'nids. I agree with ThePov, it would be nice to occasionally put all of them on the table at once. Take on everyone you know. :)

Thanks for making my 144 Chaos Space Marines, 144 mutants and 60 Plague Zombies feel suddenly inadequate. And I thought I had a hard time putting together an Apoc battle.

Frrankly, the best idea is probably this: invest in Virus Bombs. Kills 100% of everything that needs to be killed. Of course, then you've lost the planet anyway, but hey, at least you've killed the 'Nids.

Nope... not too much in the slightest... :D

I'm just happy to know that there's another huge brood collector out there as well!

Mine has grown by leaps and bounds and is proving to be a challenge to paint... but I'm chugging away on a similar points level of Gribblitude and making some decent progress.. but its going to be a while before the whole mess is painted.

I've got an army painting / construction log on MWG's forums here: http://www.miniwargaming.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=2585

Nahh not near enough, Theres a guy around here whos got a litte less than 100,000 points of guard. I didn't believe him at first, but after we spent an hour and a half just getting the infantry out for the Armies on Parade thing at our GW, i realized that my puny collection is not near enough. Ill see if i can get some picsfrom him, but i bet anyone who was there will know who im talking about.

Well everyone sorry for not replying faster but been busy trying to keep a roof over my head. I will get pics up as soon as i get a hold of a camera. There is going to be an Apocalypse battle first weekend of September and the guy who runs it always has a digital camera. Will get many pics!

Not nearly enough to take on my Imperial forces. I havn't added it up recently but I bet I am pushing about 40k points That's about 25k IG and 15K SM.

I will try and set them up one of these days and take some pics.

Last game we played was on a 12x30 section of a basement floor. 2' deployment zones. Full terrain. Lasted an entire weekend. Came down to one hero vs a dreadnought. Dreadnought squished him... Awesome game.

Well everyone sorry for not replying faster but been busy trying to keep a roof over my head.

Solution:

1. sell your models and buy a bigger house.

or

1. make your house bigger by melting models down into a cube and use them as house chairs.
2. throw away existing chairs
3. ?
4. profit

hahaha..

What's more impressive than the points amount or the physical amount... They're painted... and to good quality.

to good quality? seriously? is that even possible?

lets mathhammer that.

lets say MrMike is an insanely fast, high-quality painter.

and by those standards, it would take at least 1 hour on each basic troop model.
120 Genestealers + 60 Hormogaunts + 120 Gaunts + 32 Gargoyles + 30 Ripper Bases = 362 hours (15 days of painting, no cigarette breaks)

logically, lets go up to 2 hours for mid-level models that are a bit bigger and a little more complex:
24 Raveners + 5 Broodlords + 30 Warriors + 6 Lictors + 3 Zoanthropes + 3 Biovores = 142 hours

continuing on, lets say monstrous creatures and other massive models take 4 hours (if anyone can complete a good-looking fex in less than 4 hours, i will eat my warboss).

6 Hive Tyrants w/ full bodyguard + 2 Flying Tyrants + 26 Carnifexs (many different types) + 1 Red Terror + 1 Old One eye = 216 hours

even the most brutal, hardcore master painters can only complete larger forgeworld / armorcast models in a minimum of 10 hours.

2 Heirophant Bio-titans + 4 Scythed Heirodules + 1 Barbed Heirodule + 1 Trygon = 80 hours

thats a grand total of approximately 800 hours to complete these models at a reasonable standard

thats about 33 days of painting models.

the real question is: what do these models look like?

and MrMike, how long did painting all of it take you? did you recruit any help?

To be truthful most are still primed. I personally lost faith when i place them on the table and see the ungodly amount that i have to paint.
