So i want to run a slaughter master, and i am wondering if the skullmantle works in conjunction with the gut magic briangobbler, making the target unit take a panic test at -1Ld?

I think so. The wording of the Skullmantle is a bit funny, but I imagine that this combo should work as expected.

Yes, any Ld test taken due to the bearer of the mask or unit he is with are at -1 to their Ld. That includes Panic tests, Fear tests, Terror tests, Break tests.
