As part of my Chaos warband, I decided to paint one squad in the likeness of Skyrar's Dark Wolves.
I followed the paint scheme set in the C:SM codex, minus the wolf icon on the shoulder pad. I dare not try to free hand it, so instead I put a red slash through it.
I did however practice some free hand with these models, painting a few chaos stars on their bodies and such.
On one I tried giving him bits of script on his leg. Turned out to look more like red leopord spots.
Another I gave a "blood stripe" as a homage to the USMC of which I'm a part.
And one I splattered red all over to make him look bloodied. Must admit, the blood spattered one is my favorite.

The paint colors I used for them are Catchan Green, Shadow Grey, Scab Red, Boltgun Metal, and Badab Black. I used Space Wolf Grey for highlighting the shadow grey. I only did highlights on a few models, such as the Aspiring Champion, but it does look pretty stellar IRL.
I like the look of these guys so much I plan on doing another squad of them. Maybe making a splinter force of them for my warband. Bought some Space Wolf shoulder pads today to set that up.
