There are two Bizarre Bazaar type customer flea market events coming up in September in Virginia and Maryland. Here are some of the details for each.

The first customer flea market is on Saturday, September 4 at FTW Games (http://www.ftwgames.net/2010/08/miniature-market-island-of-blood-in-two.html) in Midlothian near Richmond, VA. That is also the day that Island Of Blood is released so there will be a good opportunity there to swap or sell unwanted items from that spectacular new Warhammer Fantasy boxed set. Full details of the FTW Games Miniature Market can be found at this link (http://www.ftwgames.net/2010/08/miniature-market-island-of-blood-in-two.html). FTW Games is an independent game store so you can trade or sell all of your different types of game merchandise regardless of manufacturer.

Then, on Saturday, September 25 there is Bizarre Bazaar at the Games Workshop store in Annapolis, MD at the Jennifer Square shopping center (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/storelocator/details.jsp?id=24688&searchMode=filter&showGamingClubs=null&showIndependantRetailers=on&street=null&city=null&postalCode=null&filter_country=US&origin=&radius=null&searchFilter=MD&return=null). Of course, trading and selling are limited to GW merchandise as it is a GW store. According to the store flyer promoting the event "everyone who participates will have the chance to get some cool swag!" The address is 167 Jennifer Road in Annapolis, MD 21401.

I attended both of the last Saturday flea market events at each of the stores listed above and both were well attended with lots of good merchandise, bargains and trading going on. Both stores operate their flea markets on the store credit system so that if you buy something from another attendee the value of the purchase goes into store credit or a gift card for that person. Of course, sometimes you can also make some good trades without spending any money at all. There certainly were some good deals to be had at the last few events. I got a Land Raider new in box at FTW's last flea market for just $20 and I got my son a nicely built Ork Trukk for $4 at the last Annapolis GW flea market! I also turned some of my unwanted items into nice new ones by selling them for store credit. These events work best when the turnout of buyers and sellers is large so let's hope for good attendance that will make these events a big success.
