Ok so a few days ago I played the last game of my local gaming club's summer tourny.I ended up facing the tau for the final game,if I won I would win the tourny if not I would come a respectful second place so here was the list.

If you cant tell by the title I won the game.It was a tense game starting well with astoraths shadow of the primach giveing my two assault squads the red thirst, then on the 1st turn my storm raven was brutally shot down by a tau hammer head.By the end of the game my two assault squads held two objectives and my opponents kroot held one so the game was mine we shake hands and I received my trophy..Now I wait for the Autumn tourny to begin ;D Feel free to let me know what you would have done differently..

Nice job beating the Tau. Sounds like a solid army and if had all of your army I would not change anything but maybe add a vind. in there. Great Job again.

Nice solid list, good to see more Astorath lists showing up...he's easily one of the best choices in the codex.

For future lists I would swap the storm bolters on the rhinos for a melta gun in your assault squads. I mean, obviously the list is working for you, just seems light on anti-armor, and I would expect 2 melta shots to help more than 4 more bolter shots.

Yeah I actually prefer Astorath lists he can kick some a$$ esspislay if he is with some death company I think he ended up hacking his way through a battlesuit commander,24 fire warriors and 5 drones..

@lowdog: I may try that as tau tanks did give me a bit of trouble..

xP That they are, which is why I normally play CSMs! I have Tzeentch to pray to in my head each time I throw the dice.

I personally play space wolves and i have a story i feel like telling about fighting Astorath. My sqaud of Termies, Logan Grimnar, and a Wolf Priest went up against Astorath and some Death company. I eat the DC and Astorath mops up Logan and the Wolf Priest... Needless to say He caused more wounds and since my dice hate me Astorath managed to eat a squad of 7 models totalling a whooping 12 wounds... Now Everytime i fight Blood Angels i run from Astorath and hope he eats a las cannon in the face.
