Battle Report

Fielded my Chaos list at the FLGS today for the slow growth league.

Mission: Crusade

Deployment: Hammer and Anvil (short halves)

IG Forces: 2x LRBT (w/ heavy bolters), platoon (3 squads w/ special weapons), command squad (w/ plasma and lascannon) in Chimera, plasma vets in Chimera

Chaos Forces: 2x flying lash DP, 4x CSM terminator champs, 1 obliterator, 2x7 PMs w/ plasma

IG Deployment: Dispersed line.

In a classic case of good news, bad news, I did make it out for a couple games last night.

The good news is, I got two in.

The bad news is, both of them were over by turn 2.

The first game was against a BA "razor Baal" list, and I was completely unprepared for how fast it could get in my face. My army was basically decimated at the end of turn 2, so I resigned.

A friend of mine wanted to get in some practice for the Colonial tournament, and I was happy to oblige. He's pretty damn good!

Mission: Beta from the Colonial packet (P: VPs, S: VPs, T: objectives).

Deployment: Table quarters, as per the mission.

Another game against Orks... this time it was a younger player, so I tried to go a little easier.

Mission: 4 objectives (basically in the middle of the table)

Deployment: Standard deployment.

This is a good time to note that the terrain was set up in such a fashion that ALL of it was tall and LOS blocking, and there was more like 1/3 of the board covered in it. Definitely a worst case scenario for shooty armies.

So, instead of watching The Game, I played some 40k. Good decision, IMHO. Table review will come after I've gotten one more game on it (which will probably be the latter half of this month).
