Since BOLS offered us the amazing feature of blogs (thankyou VERY much BOLS!) I figured id use it to not only keep up with my armies, but id use it to blog about my various music projects. Most of my music is inspired by 40k or other science-fiction. Basicly, im a sci-fi nerd with synths in short.
My latest music project is heavily inspired by the Iron Warriors Chaos Space Marine Legion. When I thought about what sounds suited the Iron Warriors, the obvious answer was Industrial music - but I didnt just want to make some generic industrial stuff, I wanted to do something epic and heavy sounding and then the idea came to me that I could mix the heavier variety of "Dubstep" music with another genre I love called "Martial" music.
The result is a mix of dubstep's heavy synth basses and badass slow beats with military drumming and orchestral symphonic melodic elements over the top. I also created a small software synthesizer specially for this project to create cold and factory-like noises which would give it a unique and unrelated element to the dubstep and martial sounds. These sounds would "industrialise" it, making it heavier and noisier.
The first two tracks can be found here :
01-Iron Without
As the opener track, I decided to make it the most industrial sounding, the dubstep elements are more in the backround for this one - but there are apocalyptic choirs and a chant of "Iron within, Iron without" - to set the tone of the track.
02-Metal Spectres Arise
For the second track I wanted more definition between the Martial and Dubstep elements, so the beginning part is pure dubstep, the second part is pure martial..and at the end the elements mix together for an epic-finale. Theres alot of orchestral elements in this one, and the dubstep and bass is more prominent.

Additionally it couldn't possibly be because there is a huge number of latent CSM armies out there due to 3.5 right? I mean its completely illogical...
