Hi!
How does the wound allocation work with Novas? If a squad of 10 enemy models get hit by it, with only 1 model being withing the range of the nova, is the nova capable of only wounding that 1 model close enough, or every model in the unit?
So, say a cleansing flame has a 9" range, and will cause 2d6 hits on the target unit. -Can those 2d6 wounds wound only the one withing the 9" range, or are the rest of the wounds allocated further (when the first target is dead)?
Nova powers are treated as shooting powers originating with the Psyker in all respects except for the fact that nova powers automatically target and hit every unit within range. Since you can't allocate wounds to models beyond the maximum range of a normal shooting attack, all of the wounds for Cleansing Flame would go on the one model within 9" for that unit.
Thanks for the help clarificating that out. Seems that novas aren't at all that good what everyone in the friendly 40k forums imply, due to the meta present in our group..
Like anything they have their limits; but they are pretty nasty for the fact they can hit invisible creatures, flyers etc. And not on 6's :)Quote:

Normal rules for shooting. So you still go from the caster.
