Wait what? Has that actually happened to you lol :p
Yup!
Another reason I am now extremely reluctant to go the cinema. Bloody expensive, full of oiks, and idiocy.
I don't go very often but when I do I usually do during the day on a weekday, cuts down on the riff-raff. Or I'm going to a kids movie so it's expected.
It's also usually cheaper for me to wait for the Bluray 3D.
£14.65 for a premier seat (to best match the comfort of home). £10 there, £10 back by Taxi (cinema is on the arse end of town, with little to no Bus service). Plus snacks and stuff......
Or, £20 for the Bluray 3D, and no smelly oiks, screaming idiots, shrieking babies etc? No contest.
Buy a bike save yourself £10. Noob.
£20, Maths NooB.
You pay £20 for a bluray? Wait till the supermarkets are flogging them for sub £10
you only have to be patient initially, as once you've reached that point there's always something reaching that point :D
true, I know a guy who is one year behind on all games, so he gets them for half their launch price.
Yeah it's rare I pay full price for games.
Even rarer when they're for myself. Exception seems to be pokemon :D
Gotta Catch Them All huh?
I don't even bother wasting money on games, I just play Freetoplay games such as LOTRO; Everquest 2; World of Tanks;
Though I do spends an odd £5-10 once in a blue moon on Magic The Gathering Online....
And of course there's those lovely codes that come in packs of Pokemon cards.....
If only I could. I think I'm upto about four hundred or so now...
codes?
Yeah
Every Pokemon Card Set released since Black & White's premier set has inclued a card with a code on it for a free digital pack for use on the Pokemon Online game...
Collectors sets often have special codes as does preview packs and some magazines.....
I just wish Magic would do the same!
new phone, and pic'n'mix, this evening rocks.
Watching Alien on Bluray.
It cleaned up really nicely!
Well I see today events were held in Normandy to mark the 70th Anniversary of D-Day, BAck in the 90's when at school we went to Normady for a two week trip, saw the Bayux Tapestery, Paris, but the two most poignent for me, was our visit to one of the British landing beaches (can't remember which one) and Pegasus Bridge, Which I am glad was included in the ceremonies held...
I just hope that when I'm 89 I'm as spry and game as this old WW2 Vet d-day-veterans-great-escape-care-home

what a boss
Blizzard and Bioware are the two companies I have that trouble with.
I'm quite enjoying Hearthstone, not quite as addicted as some of ym friends but it is fun.

What's your "name" on your Blizzard account, I would love to give you a game sometime. I'm crap but enjoy it muchly. My Battletag is Baymax#2429 if you fancy it :D
I will consider it.:p Hehe I'm on the American servers though so I don't have any decks or anything on the European ones.>< Seriously it was the default so bah.
I've been thinking about giving it a try as well... so you would recommend it I take it? Seems rather simple at first glance, though there's plenty of tactical depth in there no doubt... anyone care to give a quick comparison to Magic?
I've never played Magic so I can't compare but it is free and it is fun. If you struggle after a few games especially against other players check out some of the deck building guides and whatnot, helped me. I've not played any ranked games yet so it might be they are more difficult.
Edit: I do like that because cards are randomly assinged in the packs you buy it is quite difficult to buy an amaze deck, you would have to spend quite a bit of money and disenchant and craft a lot of cards so that is nice. Also luck of the draw plays a big part which I think is nice, someone who has an amaze deck but draws badly can lose to someone who has an average deck but has better luck getting the cards they need.
Both, you can earn gold by winning matches and doing quests and also earning achievements which can use to buy packs or you can buy them with real monies. You can disenchant cards you don't want and craft cards you do want so while you could pay money to get a killer deck you don't need to. I think it is a good system personally. Like I said having an amaze deck doesn't guarantee wins against someone with a solid deck so whatevs.:)
almost finished the Night Lords trilogy and now I am considering doing some. given how heavily modified their armour is, even during the Heresy, I feel I could make a force using 40k plastics that works for both.
Never read those, but only heard good things about them.
Today, I bought some Magic cards, and a Transformer.
Being a nerd rules!
they are good yeah, they add an awful lot more personality than you might otherwise expect of the legion. unfortunately I read book one then book three, and am now on book two. the black library site listed them in that order. fortunately they are separate enough that it doesn't really matter. but I am loving their motivations, insights etc. for the warband in the books, the siege of terra wasn't that long ago, only a few centuries. most of them hate chaos too, so I think taking chaos plastics, filing off all chaos stars, adding a few more skulls etc. and they will look fine for 30 or 40k.
Are they set just post Terra, or is it Chaosy-whaosy-timey-wimey?
they are set 'current era' 40k, and they know that it is ten thousand years since the heresy, but it has only been two or three hundred years for them.
Intriguing!
Shall have to pick those up.
What about the Nightlords do you find so appealing after reading the books Kirsten ? I've not read them and to be honest I've always found the Nightlords to be a bit unappealing in a "my chemical romance forced emo" kind of way. But I'm open to convincing and interested to hear any redeeming features the Nightlords have in your opinion or anybody else's for that matter.
well they have always just been the 'we hate everything and love to torture people' legion. but the books massively flesh them out, it covers a lot of Curze's foresight, his predictions. he knew the emperor would come for him, knew he would crusade, knew he would turn traitor and get assassinated, all before he had even left Nostramo. it makes everything seem utterly futile. he suffers severe depression, which is what causes a lot of his contempt and lack of concern for his legion. he believes very strongly in punishing sinners, and also knows full well that he and his legion are sinners, and waits for their punishment to fall. that is why he allows himself to be assassinated, he knows that he deserves it and he feels that it vindicates his whole belief system.
all in all the books (combined with Vulkan Lives, which covers a lot of it) add so much depth and personality, they make the whole legion so much more tragic and flawed, rather than just being space marines recruited from murderous gangs who are evil all along.
I am very sorely tempted to get my world eaters off the ground though instead...
The Night Lords trilogy is definitely one of the best BL series. ADB's a seriously good writer, glad you're enjoying them.
World Eaters are very appealing, now they have fleshed out the background far more and given them a backstory that's more than just blood crazed lunatics with marine armour, also Angrons story is rather more tragic and less raving madman. I too do fancy painting me some examples. Not an army, I'm out of the game now but I still really enjoy the models and fiction very much. Painting will always be a hobby for me.
I've read Vulkan lives and was a bit disappointed myself. Vulkan seemed far too placid and Curze seemed far too one dimensional psycho. I've read better HH books.
yeah World Eaters have been planned for a good long while now, so tempted to do them. A friend of mine has a good sized army of chaos marines he wants rid of, so I am thinking of taking those off his hands, painting up the plastic berserkers in heresy colours with some FW shoulder pads and seeing how they look. With chaos and khorne icons removed they might not look too bad, they already look like older armour, and given the lack of care World Eaters spare for their armour the non standard look might be fine. I googled it to see if anyone had pulled it off, but only found badly painted varieties. if nothing else I could get a modest world eater and modest night lords force out of his stuff with a few extra purchases, then I can gradually convert them to full heresy models should I feel the need.
Vulkan Lives was disappointing in some ways, I would agree it isn't the best, but at this stage I welcome anything about night lords and salamanders given their lack of coverage so far. the secondary plot line with the marine remnants I found a bit disappointing too, didn't really go anywhere.
The nightlords trilogy was good.
They almost seem the most humanly flawed space marines.
