The Orc BB sculpts are just so much better than the Human ones. Just seem more 'alive' in pose and that.

I love that Bloodbowl seems to have taken the Season structure for new teams from Dreadball. I wonder whose idea that was? Could it be the writer, who used to write the season books for Dreadball??
Drat, Facebook pictures.
I'm not familiar with Dreadball Path, how does it work?
Mantic are mostly ex GW staff aren't they? I guess we shouldn't be surprised by any similarities (both ways ) it might have been an idea they tabled before they left.
Some are, some aren't, the founder Ronnie and the main rules guys, Alessio and Jake, both worked for GW but not on Blood Bowl.
One of the guys James left Mantic a few years back to work with the GW rules team after working on Dreadball.
Basically each season has additional rules or new ways to play and also introduces a set of new teams (which will use some of the new rules introduced) and new Star Players
Blood Bowl Season 1 will be called Death Blow and contains all the league rules and the core teams, the BB box will only have the rules for the stand alone game, not the league rules.
Excellent sounds like a good idea, it'll keep the excitement going and hopefully continue to attract people over time. People moving back and forth between companies will be good as well it'll help them get different viewpoints which will hopefully mean better stuff for us.
Unquantifiable I know, but I do often wonder how many are playing Dreadball etc simply because there's currently no Blood Bowl.
It's an odd one as without teams, pitches etc available, it's hard to say if people took up the other games because they were a better gaming experience?
Just idle mind vomit. Not meant to be insightful or a leading question!
According to Wikipedia (hardly a cast iron source) about 2500 people backed the Dreadball Kickstarter and roughly the same amount for Dreadball Xtreme. About the limit of what I know as I don't play em but it might give you an insight.
Xtreme was a bit crap, as was Ultimate, both attempts to breathe more life into the game after they'd done all the teams they could think of. But, Dreadball is a great game, certainly my favourite Mantic game. A lot of good things to like about it and its a lot easier to pick up compared to Blood Bowl, which is a pretty obtuse game sometimes.
My 2 cents on the whole female sculpt issue.
I wouldn't buy a single female model. Not from a point of sexism but rather aesthetics. I am weird in that all 3 of my 40K armies are VERY uniform. I have Dark Angels, Grey Knights, and Tau. There isn't deviation amongst the squads, I try to model them all including helms to be identical, because they are an army. They are issued uniforms and equipment. Specifically they are in a totalitarian empire that executes you for the POSSIBILITY of being corrupt or in the case of the Tau were you are not an individual. So in my mind their uniform code would be very strict.
