I haven't a clue how much this thing will weigh or even how tall it will be. The feet when they are finished will determine the actual height of the model. I'm already 1/2 inch bigger than my original drawing which increases the height to about 26 inche from 24 inches. I intend to use steel hardware for the joints and reinforced box beam legs. The joints will lock in position with torx screws to disguise the screw head so it won't be flexible like Lucie

Plodding along as is my wont I successfully attached the step pyramid style ends of the toes this morning which for the life of me serve no earthly purpose other than aesthetic appeal. (If you like toes.... Jabba )
Mine differ from DS's in that they are slightly wider but the overall design is the same.
Accompanying the feet are some figures to convey scale donated by my son.

everything you do is so exacting. it is wonderful to see these come along. just stunning work.

absolutely cracking mate :) Those stepped pyramid toes really do add something that I didn't even realise was missing until I saw it there.

I never had the patience let alone the plasticard skills to try a project like this. I am envious of your skills and look forward to seeing where this will take you.

Just a question off the top of my head, how much money do you drop on plasticard in an average month? haha. But seriously you bring a level of professionalism to scratchbuilds that is unmatched. cant wait to see the next update.

I really appreciate all the replies and I'll address the only question:
This week I dumped about forty bucks on plastic and glue but that's an unusual amount because I had to replenish my stash as it was sorely depleted.
I bought some specialty sheets i.e. clapboard siding and HO boxcar siding and O gauge boxcar siding for vents and grills. Square tubing, and round tubing for mega HYDRAULIC cylinders.
The Black Adder loves questions.

A bit further along on the disc mount mechanism placed but not glued are the rough cylinder trunnion mount blocks which are in essence pairs of pillow block bearings. Not glued because I don't know how much distance I need for the cylinder travel and still allow the disc plate a full range of tilt. mebbe I should do a drawing.
