Skinks! - Need advice

Hello Internet,

So, having recently moved back from uni, I am looking to pick up some hobbies that don't destroy my liver. Creative outlets etc. So I've decided to revive one of my old painting projects - an old Skink army I had from about 5 years ago. And while I'm gonna keep it fluffy and not add any Saurus or anything, I have a competitive streak and would ideally like to play something as close to optimal, of course in-keeping with my set thematic limitations.

Therefore, advice for a list that I can build towards, 50pts on the South Coast points system (as that is the most common points limit people tend to play at my local wargames shop).

Other than the fact Id like to play a Slaan (of some description), and some basic skinks, I am open to any and all suggestions. I have no idea if skinks are even good, or can come close to resembling anything remotely competitive, but i want to give myself the best odds.
