With the Traitors Hate suppliment, where do the characters choose relics from: the Black Legion Suppliment or the main Chaos Codex? are there any of the rules that specify to look back at the black legion suppliment?
From what we've seen so far it looks like there is nothing stopping the Traitors hate stuff from being used for 'normal' Chaos marines, Black Legion or Crimson Slaughter.
So any of their relic tables could be used.
They would have to abide by the restrictions from the supplement(s) to use the appropriate table.
(I.e no VOTLW for CS and mandatory VOTLW for BL)
wouldn't the formation rules cancel out the CS Suppliment i.e. every unit gains VoTLW in Traitors Hate, but this is not allowed for the CS Suppliment?
The deteachment says you can upgrade to VOTLW for free, you don't have tooQuote:

The only exception here is the Possessed formation as it contains a DP which already has VotlW... which prevents the formation from actually beeing good.
