Or mixing the first layer of gold with brown-ish colors and using the poor gold for highlights :)
But its a very interesting and unusual look alltogether so keep it up!

My first question is as usual: do you thin your paint or do you use it straight from the pot? Thinning my paint was what helped me a lot so i see...
it would be easier if the background wasnt the same color ;) if you could take another pic with a white background it would be most pleasing!

Or you could take one aiming lasgun arm, cut of the lasgun at the but, take a scout shotgun (they got no but if i remeber correctly) and seperate it at the handle. Then glue it to the aiming arm and...
If you are talking about IG grenade launchers i think its definitly doable, but you will probably have to use some greenstuff to make the typical bolter housing
It has a nice overall look, but i think you would get better results if youd thin down your paint a bit so you can use more but thinner layers of paint. Some use water with a drop of dishwashing...
