Im not sure if I agree with all your points here.
While its nice to provide many different targets, a burst from a BS4 heavy bolter can cause a very unwelcome LD7 morale test. Seperating all...

Math Hammer aside, I'd take the HKs+Multi for outflanking. You shoul dbe able to get decent shots at side/rear armor provided you bring an astropath. The extra shot is key because your sentinals will...
Used Marbo in a game last week. Killed 4 destroyers with the Demo charge, managed to live and not surrender the KP. Then again game before that Marbo dropped said charge at his own feet, blowing...
The battle force is not a bad buy for this reason. You get an sentinal, nice for outflanking with an autocannon. The command squad is redundant, but you can always trade/sell them. You'll get 4 more...
Not a bad 1000pt list except for a few things.
-Drop the SWS and give those sniperrifles to your CCS. Saves you 30 pts right there.
-Add an extra melta to your vet squads. That third melta...
I have no problem with the use of calvary in a IG army. Remember that the IG is comprised of regiments from millions of worlds. There is not going to be much homogenity with that kind of force....
Great thing about that list its just plain solid. No trickerations, no nonsense, just damn good units. I think many Guard players use some form of that list. It just works, plain and simple.
On an aside, the wording in orders rule is pretty poor. It mentions "any friendly" units may recieve orders. Its good the faq cleared it up, but poor wording in the codex nonetheless.
Not knowing the abilities of the T-Cannon, how closesly are you grouping your men together? I usualyl place mine in cover, and losing more than 3-4 from a large blast template is rare. My 30 man...
The heavy weapons teams are a waste of points IMO. At least the Autocannon ones can be merged in your infantry squads, giving them survivalbility. The HWT, excluding the mortar teams are incredibly...
The Hvy Flamer gives you versitality and heavy punch at close range, and the ML give you long range anti transport. My opinion is that your chimera in most case shoudl catually be moving your troops...
The tough thing would be the prevelence of transports who can move 12" and scoot away from charge range. You would have to take somekind of outflanking or DS to deal with move ablitily of transports....
The P-fist is a nice addittion after a 12 shotgun, 3 meltas, and possibly a demo charge. Most marine squads will be severely crippled after that round of shooting. Making the charge a better idea.
Yeah three melta vets is the best 100 point unit in the game. Hardly a new revelation. I'd leave the flamers to your PCS, BS 4 is wasted with flamers.
The LRBT is the master generalist in the IG army. The battle cannon gives you 72" range, allowing you to strike with a large ordnance template on the first turn, anywhere in LOS. In fact its the only...
Tigiurius.
Word.
Lord castellan Creed.
The scout ablity and his Furious Charge order suprise my opponents when my 30 man, 4 PW toting firebase charges them at I4 and Str4
LOL, I think every 40k forum has a post like this. Melta are more useful weapons, as the plasma gun has some potent drawbacks. Plasma is not a bad weapon however. Nuff said.
I do realize, plasma offers better range, and rapid fire at short range. It is a better anti-heavy infantry weapon, with glaring drawbacks. I suggested the democharge because it gives you a pieplate...
Me three,
Hull Flamer FTW, I killed I killed off a squad of Wyches to claim an objective with one shot from the flamer.
With the preponderance of cheap, safe transportation these days, melta is king. Plasma guns do have a niche role, i.e. shooty, poor assualt units with decent armor saves. For vets I'd say go 3...
I think with the devil dog, using two would be amny times more effeective than using just one. That goes with the banewolf as well.
@Xas
I'd agree with you that the 5 plates are better then one 5" plate, but remember that the Demo can take sponson Plasma, put out one 5" two 3", at 25 points cheaper. Executioner is a better MEQ...
Yeah the Devildog is certianly tempting. I dont like its the small blast template and it seems its kinda innacurate to do reliable tank busting, but being able to move 12" to get in melta death range...
