Grahame MacNeil's short story The Last Church may support the argument that Alba is Britain/Albion. The story focuses on the last church in, importantly, one of the last areas to fall to the Emperor....
Their armour has always puzzled me too. In the earlier 'fluff' (including the white dwarf army list from many years ago which was the reason i started Death Guard) their armour was described as...
For anyone interested, I won the combat patrol tournament today using the following Tau list:
XV8 Crisis Suit x 1 - twin linked missile pod, flamer
XV8 Crisis Suit x 1 - twin linked missile pod,...
Thanks man.
Tetras have disruption pods built in!! :)
I'm swinging towards kroot as it'll boost me up to 32 models, allow outflank and, most importantly, adds a different look to the force.
I am hoping the missile pods can take out any light armour I may come up against - rhinos etc. Then on to shooting squads. The flamer is only there to give them a little extra defence in overwatch...
Hey all.
I have a few combat patrol 400 point games coming up and wish to take my Tau. Usual combat patrol rules apply - no 2+ saves, only 2 wounds, no HQ needed, no vehicle of 34+ combined...
I believe these questions have arisen on this and other forums several times. Google will give you more information than I, but here is what I understand:
Snapfire and overwatch apply the BS1...
Thanks for all the responses. The original post has now been updated. The resulting vehicle and rules are a lot less convoluted and hopefully not over-the-top. Let me know your thoughts.
I...
Thanks Inquisitorsog, Blackarmchair, DarkLink.
All your points have been taken on board. This was never meant for competitive play but I agree that it cannot be too unpredictable to use.
How...
@ =Angel=
Thanks for the response. In hindsight, I agree that perhaps the Unpredictable rule was a bit much. I was just looking to make the LR a little different. I think I'll cut that rule out...
Hey all.
Inspired by this chap - http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.php?showtopic=245829 - I have been playing around with my own rules for an alternative chaos land raider.
What do you...
Hey there. Good to see another Death Guard player around. I hope I can help, but, as always, my suggestions are built from my own experience and therefore may differ from your experience and the way...
Abadon or Pedro Kantor for me.
Abadon is just a bada$$ who frightens other players and can cut through anything (regularly beats Mephistion).
Pedro gives +1A which is brilliant for foot heavy...
Chaos 3rd edition and Chaos 4.5 (? - the one before the current codex).
Awesome pictures, background and you could build really individual and themed armies while still being competitive.

Looking great. The way you've painted the worn black and silver is really effective.

As a Death Guard player myself, may I say those models look awesome. Really great conversions and paint scheme.
Do you mind telling how you painted them?
I am slowly buying Forge World and...
Dan Abnett's short story 'Of their lives and the ruins of their cities' in the Sabatt Worlds anthology, sees Gaunt and his ghosts in just after their first or second action. It appears that Gaunt...
The Marines look very similar to the Black Reach starter set Marines and the shoulder pads don't look that sculpted.. It could be transfers.
Having said that, shaving off the right shoulder pads...
The 'fliers' rumour does tie in the fliers we've seen released for Dark Eldar, the Necrons fliers which are due, and the rumour of Ork and chaos fliers in the pipeline. Also, there were flier rules...
Pretty much what bladeofdeath3 said.
My only other information is that the Legions were largely made up of Astartes from Terra and Luna and had very similar command structures and hierachy....
The 'fluff' looks good. How are they re-arming / getting wargear though? and how do they communicate (if at all) with the Imperium at large? They must have some ways of finding out if planets needs...
Very nice, thanks for the heads-up. Glad to see Forge World are still pumping out models to support older Imperial Armour books.
It means I now have a choice as to covert a Malakim Phoros or wait...
Personally, I like anything by Abnett or and would hugely recommend the Gaunt's Ghosts, Ravenor and Eisenhorn trilogy for some non-Marine action.
Dembski-Bowden is rather good and quite dark - the...
IIRC, there are a mixture of plastic and metal parts.
Legs, torsos, backpacks, some arms and some guns are plastic.
Tabards, guns, shoulder pads, heads, some arms and some guns are metal.
...
Thank you both very much for the replies.
I think (with the models I have) that a baal predator with flamestorm cannon or sanguinary priest with jump pack and power sword are my options for...
