I don't buy that theory at all; I don't know anyone playing a current skirmish game that only has one force. I play 2 low model count (~5-10 minis a side) games (Malifaux & EOTD), and between them...

I can't see them re-releasing Dreadfleet as anything other than an iPad game. I imagine this is just a base covering exersize, potentially related to some CHS settlement if that's what's happened.
The fact it was limited to 3 boxes per customer makes me think that is what they want; speculators snapping them up. If it was a proper LE release, I'd be expecting 1 per customer, but GW just want...
A good friendly game is one where someone knows they might have a chance of having any involvement. Getting wiped out by 3 Knights certainly doesn't count.
I like how all the staff players are using it to spam stuff; an army of Forgefiends/Helldrakes/Defilers, an army of Leman Russes, an army of Riptide and Broadsides.
They all sound awful to play...
I can't remember the last time I didn't field him. For the 45pts or whatever it was he seemed pretty handy with "He's Behind You" and the demo charge. If I go to the new codex I'm going to have to...
I'm looking forward to this coming out; I've got the other 2 box sets in metal but I've finished painting them already, so this will add some variety to my faction and they are great minis to paint :)
It's probably because they had to outsource it all, and they aren't keen on things that they don't have complete control over.
Thanks for the batrep! :)
That sounds like a pretty scary Warlord traits table; particularly giving a knight "Will Not Die" or the lowest leadership value, that'll cause havoc with horde armies.
...
Any chance of a brief batrep?
Isn't that essentially a salespersons job?
I was under the impression they sold off all of the metal casting equipment, so they were relying on existing stocks.
Anyway, I'm not sure what's happening, my order for metals is still pending...
It does, it's got just short of double the page count. But the pages are also half the size.
The weekly is still ~A4 but only has 32 pages. Visions is about ~320 pages at A5.
Surely the rule before was to buy both together, so that they can at least claim they weren't tricking you into buying units with crap rules?
I like some of the Dwarf mini's and looking to start...
They've always mentioned it as being A5 sized, but it's usually buried in the text whilst they shout about the increased page count. You're still getting about the same volume of magazine, but it's...
It's not even a small box too. I was aware that there was a theft problem with the smaller blisters, but big boxes?
It certainly implies something is going wrong anyway.
It depends on what it's sitting next to. In a newsagent it'll be a good 50% more than the other gaming mags, in GW it'll be beside Black Library books for £1 more*, in the FLGS it'll probably be in...
Quite like WD in what regards? Subject matter? Quality? I know I go on about it, but you should have a flick through Wargames Illustrated or No Quarter if you see them and compare what you get for...
The ads in the other magazines I've read recently have all been pretty honest about being ads whilst the magazine contained some editorial content. I just got the feeling with old WD that everything...
I've met him a couple of times outwith GD and he always seemed pretty good humoured. GD must be pretty hard going for the celebs.
The first 1/3rd of it is dedicated to new releases, but then scattered through it there's a couple of filler articles, some (gushing) reviews of new books, a vague battle report featuring said new...
From what I've heard it's safer to be cautiously pessimistic. If it turns out to be a worthwhile read then excellent, but GW doesn't have much form there. What I've heard is that it's just a very...
It makes a lot more sense when you realise that the autor from Tale Of Painters has had his army featured in WD a couple of times (and got a bit of a slating over the coverage). But I've also seen...
That's a lot of page filler :p
Sorry, basic starting level is £93.50 (I didn't see a Cave Troll). That'll still get me started in pretty much any game with change. Though as far as I recall Goblin Town doesn't actually have stats...
