Great paint job
What if you still used a plastic rod, just in a different way? Here's my thinking.....A while back I was messing around with slime effects made from melted plastic, and I noticed the clear resin rods...
Ok. I think I found most of the stuff "hidden" in the rocks, but what's the last pic of? I don't see it. Very cool, btw.
Won't a compressor/tank combo cause unwanted water to build up in the line and eventually the airbrush? I know it's a major problem with large air compressors. The air condenses and you always have...
A correction to my previous post-----
The Space Marine chapter I refered to above was the Iron Warriors, and it was not their homplanet that was destroyed. It was a fortress world they controlled....
I doubt they kill off the Ultramarines, if for no other reason than because they are GW's bread and butter army.
And, I don't have it with me, but in the new 'Nid codex, the Scythes of the Emperor...
I've been tossing around the idea of comming back from Gamesday as the proud owner of a shiny new barbed hierodule. But, I haven't seen, nor can I find, an up-to-date datasheet on these beasties. Any...
That looks cool. I really like the vines. And, by the way, if you see doug before i do, tell him if he leaves this on his car hood and drives off like he did with the monolith.......it won't be good.
What about a Lelith Hesperax counts-as? Use the head with long hairflowing downwards, the shorter sword option and the chains or a different arm holding a short sword/dagger. I think that'd be bad...
IG vs. Nids has already been done. It's called Starship Troopers. hehe.
Checked out the page for WaaaghFest........That looked like a blast. I'd love to be able to pull off something like that in my area of Illinois. BTW, I noticed some really cool looking nuke...
I'm a son, nephew, and cousin of fellow shriners (and on the way myself), so I applaud you for what you're doing. What a great way to raise money! (Sure beats a food stand at the local fair) And...
Looks a hell of a lot better than some I've seen. Great work!
I just use baking soda as well, though I don't mix mine into a paste. I simply apply a generous amount of elmers glue and sprinkle baking soda over it until I have a good layer built up. Let dry...
Looking good! Can't wait to kill them all with my 'nids....
However you decide to build the table, I agree with Fade about the game mat from zuzzy miniatures. For simple, easy to paint, effective ground level terrain, the mats they offer are by far the best...
I'm kinda hurt....my nids are green and red......*sniffle*. But I like them, so what the hell. Right?I agree that a bone-ish color would look good. I always thought the color scheme I did my IG in...
Here's my Trygon from Hive Fleet Jericho.

Love the Tyrant. It gives the impression it's shielding itself from enemy fire with his wings. Very cool. I'd like to see it finished to see how you tie in the base extension.
Very impressive as always.
So, 1/50th to 1/35th is the ballpark i'm looking for....Cool. Thanks guys.
I was wondering if anyone knew what scale rating for other hobby models, (i.e. trains, military models, etc.) fits 40k models best? Is it H, O, OH, HO...Q? I have seen a ton of stuff lately that...
The sprue is just the plastic frame that holds all of the components for a model. (The thing you have to remove the parts from with clippers) Pretty much every 40k model sprue is square or rectangle...
I'd recommend using washes regardless of what color you decide to go with. I can't begin to tell you how much easier 'nids are to do with washes. (at least their "skin".) start with an off white or...
Another easy way to get gem/crystal looking rock is to simply take an existing rock, and hit it with a hammer. now one rock becomes three or four smaller ones, and so on. once done, put them in a...
