I think a badab black, or ogryn flesh wash over the entire model would really bring in some depth to the bright colors and make it look amazing.

Trying to think of a scheme to use for the start of my skaven army. Any thoughts?
Don't suppose you could make a quick tutorial on how you did the power weapon effects?
Might wanna shorten the Axe's haft a little bit. Looks huge
Got a shadow box jury rigged on my painting table and I took a few shots of the first Sternguard Vet and the 2nd one I started working on today. Hope you guys like it :D

This is what the final armor color will look like, still requires a few highlights of the grey after the wash but this is for the most part what it will look like.

Thanks :D I'm excited to see these guys finished as well. I will be trying my hand at making a custom decal sheet using the Dusk Raiders chapter badge found on...
First and foremost, I'm not going to do a completely pre-heresy style power armour army. Mainly I'm just using the paint scheme. If I do make some sort of fluff for a post-heresy Dusk Raiders it...
what technique did you end up using to paint the black?
His leg appears to be turned at an unnatural angle, or does the pose just look awkward cause of the camera angle? I can't tell if he's walking forward and just turning to look back or if his leg is...
You could also do the carapace and talons by starting with snakebite leather and building up to bleached bone. That will give it a nice bone effect.
I always made the talons the same color as the carapace cause my thinking was the talons are the same chitinous bone as the carapace. As far as how to paint the black so it doesn't look flat or...
Went ahead and added a small grey highlight on the chaplain, along with glowing eyes. Hope you like it!

Debating whether I wanna do a small extreme highlight of the armour, I built up to the black from the primer using only Badab Black washes.
Just thought I would drop in and show you guys & girls what I'm currently working on. Still trying to decide on an actual chapter for the army but I figured I'd get started on the Chaplain cause he's...
Just went to Bolter & Chainsword to use the SM painter and this is the base color I came up with, here is the hex code #3d3f5c It's lookin like a Shadow Grey / Midnight Blue? mix

Trying to come up with a dark blue-gray color. So far I've tried a 2:1 mix of VMC Steel Grey and Ultramarine but it came out sky blue. My Next try is going to be prob a 2:1 mix of VMC Steel Grey VMC...
Like others have said, the easiest way to differentiate between two seperate models with two seperate psychich powers would be to model them differently. Or you could mark the edge of the base with a...
under this logic your own models would be required to take a difficult / dangerous terrain test. Or the doors would be considered impassible terrain which would be completely ridiculous.
No where does it say models CAN NOT move on or over the ramps. Or that they count as dangerous/ difficult terrain. a half an inch increase in the models size is in no way "negligable" in a game where...
