The thing I don't like about the dice is the cryptic, difficult to read symbols which results in you having to look up what the symbol means anyway.

I agree, I think the "free hits" will be an "impact hit" thing. Maybe 1 per model, hit at Str, no AP? Every since Dawn of War 2 I've been wanting Jump Troops to be able to land on people in 40k.

Actually, as far as I can tell from the picture of the rules, it does have Ceramite Plating. I think that's what appears under "Wargear" - so it comes with the base cost of the transport.
