Have you or anyone else actually tried fighting with this army (or similar)? How do the calculations compare to reality?
(FWIW: I'm the guy who snatches defeat from the jaws of victory, needing a...
I have to agree - Wyches are not good for holding objectives - they need to be in CC to survive. To hold an objective, I would suggest Warriors. I would drop some of the Scourges or Reavers to get...
My argument to this would be that a Drop Pod, once landed, counts as an immobile vehicle.
As such - it cannot move!
But I agree - this is where RAW and RAI will forever fight on. My...
Actually, I was going to try splitting my normal squad(s) of 10 on a raider into 2 X 5 on Venoms to act as harassment / speedbumps and last minute objective grabbers / contesters ...
...
I noticed this as well.
Missiles are One-Shot weapons - you don't get to fire them each turn unless you meant to fire one fighter's/bomber's worth of missiles per turn (for 3 turns). Unless...
I agree with MOST of what was said, except "Lack of Blast Weapons".
DE have access to both the Razorwing and the Voidraven - both of which will (probably) carry missiles with Large Blast radius.
...
Points to note:
Tau commanders cannot carry the Railgun options. That is only available to the Broadsides - a Heavy Choice. They certainly can't have Jump Packs and Rail Guns on a single suit! ...
So what happened with the Vindicators? Did you get any shots off with them?
(If they soaked up as much shooting as you implied, they probably DID do their jobs!) ;)
When you're rolling enough dice, you can. I usually get 1 or two 6's a turn with 10 Wyches in CC (Not great, but not bad odds). All you need to do is immobolize the Dread once and then you're...
I know why you choose the Raven, but for an 1850 point list, if you want to save a few points, you could try downgrading one or two Voidravens to Razorwings, get the 4 missiles for free and still get...
Actually, you're not going to blow up vehicles very often with Haywire. Most of the time, you're Glancing - forcing -2 on the dice roll. Vehicles will only explode IF:
- You roll a 6 to Penetrate...
I can't offer much advice on the Hellions or Baron (I'm still assembling them!) :o
However, the numbers look about right - I understand you need numbers for the Hellions to work.
Was there...
So – this is a fun little force I played last weekend in a couple of games against Grey Knights. It actually did better than I expected.
Shas’o with Plasma Rifle, Missile Pod & Multi-Tracker –...
Well,
- you have 4 troop choices - Good
- you have both Ravagers and Raiders with Lances - Good
- you have Venoms for Anti-Intantry - Good
- you have a standard Arcon - nothing wrong with him
-...
Maybe if we know how the Wolf Guard failed you? What happened?
Probably the biggest weakness of the unit you described is that Terminators are expensive and have limited numbers. They really...
Well, depends on who you play, I guess...
If you're planning on rides for the Wyches, Raiders are 60+ points each - you won't be able to afford 2 with just 100 points.
More importnatly, they...
Hmmm. Multiple Wolf Players talking about/giving advice for Dark Eldar...
Some how I think Russ would not approve! :O
Not Quite. Only the Pathfinders can start off in the Pathfinder's Devilfish. However, if you deploy the Devilfish by the Firewarriors during deployment, on turn 1, the Firewarriors can mount the...
For List 1, you should be using a Succubus instead of an Archon for a "true" Wych army - but I won't hold that against you if you just prefer the Archon! ;)
If I were to caution you about...
Not clear on your Wych squad: are all the Wyches taking Haywire Grenades or just the Hekatrix? (I would recommend all Wyches get Haywire.)
Also, Wyches already have Assault Grenades (Plasma). ...
K - some of observations:
Stealth teams haven't been doing so well for me lately. Their range is too short and most armies seem to be more vehicle-based, so they can be hard pressed that close to...
K - If you're concerned about armour, you should probably start by replacing the Splinter Cannons with Blasters on the Trueborn. Remember - passengers don't need to fire at same target as the...
It's not a bad tactic for those marine armies that can split into Combat Squads.
Unfortunately, my Wolves don't grant me the option... :(
In the case of Wolves, I like Las/Plas because:

I would have to agree - 5 Incubi won't do much on their own. Either need to be more or gone.
If you intend to guard an objective with the Warriors, it may be more effective to combine the two...
Well, I played a Friend's GK army twice now. At lower points levels (1500 - 1750), he has decided to drop it for a bit.
- It takes up too many points with "all the toys" he likes
- His 2...
