Thats very good advice from Lux. When we started playing FOW a few years ago I new immediately which army I was going to play. My grandfather and great uncle both served in the British army in the...
Seems to me that they want to try and put their own stamp on the game. Green Ronin did an outstanding job with 2nd edition and it looks like FFG are trrying to 'dumb down' the experience for people....
I was fortunate enough to have a discussion with Rick Priestly a few yearrs ago about scales. In a nutshell it is all about 'abstracts', especially when it comes to 40K. He used the Rhino as a good...
I would say yes, although the Chaos Lord would have to be Undivided. He would be gathering an army around him from all the powers. The Word Bearers often use a lot of summoned Daemons all the Chaos...
It's been a while since I painted some 40K minis. I have started with an old project. A few years ago I built a Chaos Space Marine Black Legion Army. It wasn't badly painted, I even managed to get...
I ran a game of WFRP for a while. It stopped because of other commitments but I think it is way better than D&D. I made the game pretty gritty for the players. I also made them play humans which was...
Had a look at your youtube postings...very funny. Have to agree with you about scaring the ladies as a bedside lamp and your voice is definitely more 'Iron Warriors' in the second video. What music...
The model seems to be shaping up well. What type of wood are you using there? Looking forward to seeing it painted.
I have an original ogryn bonehead with ripper gun from the late 80's/early 90's. It's almost if he's stepped out of the film 'Commando'....hmmm. Still one of the coolest early 40k miniatures GW...
I really don't like the cut of the new ork models - too gorilla like. I have a stash of old orks and I am wondering what to do with them. I really like the Ork race and some of the vehicles, I always...
NIce work on the Warhound Titan - what's the price tag up to so far?
Good conversion and really well painted.
Well done. I think the colour scheme is excellent - the green and greys really set each other off against the pale flesh. I have always wanted to build a scratchbuilt army better never had the time....
The Drop Pod is really well done. It certainly photographs well. It's given me some inspiration for a drop pod I have. The Deathwing look good, I especially liked the blue lighting on the Chaplin...
Reminds me of the heady days of 5th ed Warhammer...uh I mean Herohammer!
I agree with Magos about Power metal to inspire you!! Have been listening to Manowar, Dragonforce and much more to blitz through models. Slayer's the best though.
At least everything that you show there is painted!
The bottom line - you have to sit at your painting table and work through the block - look for inspiration around you, on the web etc, but really you need to force yourself into a regular system....
I have to say that Army Builder has been very useful over the years. Worth every penny, but then if you have the time to set up excel spreadsheets go for that.
I have two armies - Space Marines and Imperial Guard. The Space Marines are a throwback to the heady days of Rogue Trader - many of my rank and file are the old plastic marines. I am currently adding...
Hi folks,
I have been playing 40K off and on since the Rogue Trader days. The BoLS site has been pretty inspirational to me in recent times and it's great that you guys have got this forum site up...
