If you can paint your nids up to that standard whilst masquerading as a one-armed bandit I'll be very impressed ;) Best of luck mate, I'll be following this thread with interest.

I know some guys who paint on the sprues but personally, i find it a bit sacreligious. :D

You could try thinning nuln oil with water so that its staining effect is less dense but if you saturate the mini by slapping the wash all over it may still look dirty due to the nature of the wash....
