So I am getting out of the hobby of 40k, and as such I am looking to part ways with two armies. First is a large Tau army complete with multiple sets of allies done up as part of the same army. The...
The outflank character can work wonders for a big guard platoon as well.
Sad elrodogg gets no advice.
So, I'm primarily a fantasy player, but my 5th ed experience is limited to about a dozen games playing as tau. I wanted to put together something based around the new killa kanz (they really are epic...
So, 30 new missions and nothing worth trying? I was under the impression that there was a much wider variety of games to be played.
As an aside, I'm a Tau player and I'm a big fan of the SMS. However, if you take the, make sure you take them in abundance. They work best when 4 or 5 of them are simultaneously shooting at a unit.
The rumor mill also has them getting a new army within the next two armies or so. Supposedly it's either Ogres and then Tomb Kings or Tomb Kings then Ogres. If that is the case, then wait. GW...
I'm a big fan of 2999 actually. 4 characters at that level of points really allows troops/units to really shine, taking away from characterhammer.
With 8th edition around the corner, we don't know exactly how the book will play in the new edition.
What we do know is that the book is awful in 7th edition. The biggest problem the book faces...
For the main block, the weapon skill is worth more than the pip of strength. The main block is there to survive and throw out rank/banner.
For the "combat" detachment, I'll argue that the volume...
The skaven weapon thing in 3up modeling is probably just a new release for the skaven weapons teams in their second wave release due in a couple of months.
Empire v. Greenskins is a classic...
Sorry jumped to the flesh out the list part...
Well first you can use the IndyGT chaos dwarf list. It's considered legal for tournament use in many places. While GW may have relegated it to the...
That's certainly not the case in tournaments I attend. Determining LoS, Rear, Flank, etc. is perfectly fair game as long as it isn't a distance you're measuring.
So a couple of questions from the experts....
1- The wolf-guard do not count towards getting 10 strong grey-hunters that way they can get the dual special weapons, correct?
2- All rhinos? No...
First dab at the space wolves... thoughts?
Librarian
3 Wolf Guard w/ drop pod (pure ablative wounds and pod for librarian)
10 Grey hunters, 2x meltaguns, mark of wulfen, drop pod
10 Grey...
Are we looking at the same minotaurs? The steroid pumped uber cows that are $15 each for a plastic model? The beasts line is the worst line GW has put out in a wihle.
The basic of WoC lists are 3 units of marauder horse and 3 units of chaos knights. Go from there.
Get one of these: http://www.gf9.com/store/popup_image.php?pID=422
I would playtest running two units of 6 strong knights with banners and 2 chariots. Rage and warbanner are the two items the knights want to tote. Chariots really are fantastic, mark of slaanesh of...
Waltz is right, if the dragon isn't fighting it's wasting it's points.
you need 2 units of terradons and 3 units of skink skirmishers. drop one unit of 20 saurus with hw/shield to pay for it. drop the cav down to 6. if you have points, go for 2 solo salamanders and...
@ Old paladin - Beastmen certainly aren't in that top tier bracket. In fact alot of people think the new book is actually weaker than the previous ones. They are much more susceptible to psychology...
Wood elves are a great army. Of all the older armies, they have aged the best.
A balanced wood elf army is the way to go. Most competitive builds start around 3 units of glade guard (10 strong,...
Play wood elves.
