I have quite a bit of IG in my local scene. They seem to be of the competitive variety, so i've been thinking of some tactics to combat the gunline.

Converserly...i've just done the math on 3 wave serpents firing back at vendettas. They strip 2.09 HP's from them per turn (assuming jink), and cause 0.68 penetrations. So yeah....wave-serpents...

I really don't see how serpents get glanced to death as quick you mention. 3 Vendettas will put 2.25 hull points on a wave serpent.

The reapers make a much better choice. When the gun intercepts, it cannot fire on the following turn. The reaper exarch is free to fire his launcher as normal.

I'd assume that is the sky hunter special rule. Normal hunters get sky hunter and vector dancer, exarch a also get perfect strike. Which I've not seen mentioned anywhere
