Actually this is wrong. There's the movement restriction (same for both), the tacticals will be mostly in midfield claiming objectives so the LC's range is irrelevant, most importantly the MM is...
is only T4(5), but even so they're better than a bike.
Or run them behind fenrisian wolves. With good fleet rolls you'll stay in 'cover' the whole way up the board. Since they're neither...
My recollection is that there's actually some argument about this. But the reason Vulkan's rule is worded the way it is for exactly the reason already pointed out, so that Dreads and vehicles can...
Not even a contest. Thunderwolves are ridiculously good. Cavalry charges alone make them better, but the rest of it, like Chumbalaya pointed out makes them even better. I run mine all spending with...
He who shall not be named also has a good mission that I've used in a tournament:
5 objectives, one in the center and one in the center of each table quarter. To secure an objective you need to...
Standard Chaos construction is, I assume still:
Dual melta PM troops in rhinos
Termicide triple melta elite units for tank killing
obliterators
MoN/warptime or MoS/lash Demon princes.
It's usually worth throwing a spear or two in a unit for a little more flexibility.
Here's the tactic that's worked for me a lot:
Other guy makes his tank wall, dumps his infantry right in...
I played a version of this drop 'crons list with mech eldar +seer council at 2000 points this week.
I was trying to do the 'right thing' and focus on the necrons to get a phase out, but failed on...
Farseer jetbike fortune doom spirit stones warding
8 warlocks, bikes, 6 destructors, embolden, enhance
2x 5x fire dragons, wave serpent, scatter laser, chin cannon
2x 5x dire avengers wave...
Remember though, that since you have an eligible assault target, if you can make it work you can multi-assault. You only have to stay in coherency and get each model in the initial squad in...
Fiends are one of the best units in the codex. I'd rather have 6 more than the flamers (though they're fun too). Unless you have some pressing fluff reason I'd switch the horrors for Plaguebearers as...
It's probably pretty good. I don't think you need two autarchs; most, if not all the serpents should have Bright Lances because they're the most accurate platform in the army; 3 prisms is fun but...
No argument here. As BolsCon proved with lists that on paper look like crap winning everything, the list is hardly the only thing that matters. Just arguably the most important.
do you have sample lists? I repeat, what factors are important for you, and how do you rate each one. There's essentially no way for us to help you without more information.
qft.
Your list is better without the advice you're getting to add crap units.
If it was me, (I assume this is at 1500?) I'd drop the DA squads to 5 man each (since they should never get out of the tank...
Footslogging is terrible:
if you showed up at 2k with:
1 DP with wings and lash
3 defiler with all cc weapons
3 dreads with all cc weapons
2x squads of 20 berzerker with powerfist and rhino...
It's cute when people think that foot slogging anything works in 5th. Trukks are so barely adequate as a vehicle that it's a joke, but since they're all the orks have en-masse I guess you're stuck.
we've always played that you count the previous turns speed for the whole assault phase.
It might be fun to play until you get beat in the face over and over by anybody who brings a tank (i.e. every decent 5th edition list).
Will ruin horde orc and nid's day, but then what doesn't.
Sadly for marines that will always be a problem, which is why some people are in favor of the "rifleman" dread concept (particularly Y.T.T.H). Basically 2 Twin-linked AC per dread which helps...
Yeah, it's a fairly easy conversion. If you were taking Vulkan than you'd obviously take the flamers, no contest, if not, then it's a toss-up (though I tend to like them, even without drop-podding.)...
@TKE: So you're arguing for just taking BL on all the Serps then? I guess I agree with you to some extent, save for I'm tight on points (solved by dropping to an 8-man council) and the meta-game...
So you disagree with He Who Cannot Be Named's assessment of Tau>Space Elves>IG>Marines? (paraphrasing). Not that I think you're wrong, but having run the "Best of Marines" a lot the Eldar are a nice...
