I have enjoyed these books and have even played the Nippon army once. They seem to be very well balanced and so far I have not found any uber powerful units or combos but not really bad ones either.

You have a unit with 5 guys and a character. You deal six wounds to the unit. All five guys die and there is one wound left does it go onto to the character?

For Daemons a Daemon prince is a good place to start, it is fairly cheap as hq's go and you can upgrade it several ways...
