I always marvel at people who can do this. I just scale it roughly based on the base size, but when shoot all the bases at different angles, it makes it hard to do that.

I was mistaken! (thank goodness), it does look like a new base size... here's a quick/rough scale comparison:

I just did a scale test based on the 60mm base of those killa cans... and it's definitely looking like it's on the regular oval base. That puts it standing at about 5.75" tall.

They look great! My only complaint is that the dual kit unit only contains 10 models... all the other dwarf kits i have seen have been in boxes of 16...

I'm actually really digging these hobbit minis. I wish they weren't as pricey as they are, or mostly in fine cast. I would have scooped a lot of them up for sure.

I ended up with a few finecast minis... (not by choice... aside from the one) and I was never impressed with the quality.

Is it sad that I can totally picture somebody out there putting all their new plastic broadsides on the smaller bases to keep them them that much further out of range?

really? i have always been told that you have to use the correct base size for the model based on the current rules, otherwise it creates issues for other players trying to measure range to you.

one thing that drives me nuts, is constantly having to go back and REBASE my models.. there is nothing worse than trying to cut a fully painted model off a finished base and attack it a new one.
