Same here. I think it would be the best place for them as well. To wish-list I'd say they should get 2 plastic boxes (one with a mining drill heavy weapon, the other with basic infantry/auxillaries like the kroot carnivore squad) and a few metal boxes and a character that allows pure Demiurg armies.

I still think theres enough love for Space dwarfs, and if they did them right and integrated them into Tau they'd be quite popular I imagine. They should also get Jes Goodwin to do the sculpts..how could anyone resist them then if he did them

If I think of anything to add, I'll let you know. The only other things I can think of this that it's been strongly implied (don't have a source to hand, unfortunately) that the Tau obtained their Ion technology from the Demiurg, and that the info about the Kinebrach can be found in the Horus Rising novel by Abnet (in brief, they are an alien race that was integrated into the advanced human culture known as the Interex, and at least at some point in their history they were capable of crafting weapons known as Anathemae, which are basically Daemon weapons...).

I really want to know the sources for some of those pictures now, too!
Hrud, Umbra were from Xenology. The larger loxatl pic was from a backround book (I forget the name sorry) but it detailed stuff about Sons of Sek and other chaos traitor guard stuff. The Slaugth are from dark heresy.

I was happy to find the Death Watch rulebook featured something new on my Enslaver buddies though. It looks like the Storm Wardens battled an Enslaver plague and afterwards their first company when into hibernation and they changed. Always nice to read things like that as it shows their still in the backround

    Source : Xenology.

    Thyruss :

    Q'orl :

I like the second picture because it shows some if not all of their different units, great for us modellers! They remind me of those jumping/flying things from Super Metroid too. What interests me most about the Q'orl is that their empire is roughly the same size as the Tau's. I guess Codex Tyranids would be the best to represent them (lots of winged stuff, gargoyles ?).

There's several new races in the DE codex. And the 3rd ed rulebook had a great little picture of some aliens (including the first pic of a Kroot).

Am I the only person who thought that Kinebrach seemed very much like Jokaero? Ape-like creatures with orange fur and good at technology?

It is in "The Inquisition" source book, though it might have also appeared in "The Sabbat Worlds Crusade."

STRYXIS and RAK'GOL now added to the list. Many thanks to Idaan on Warseer for the summaries of them! Also removed Nurthene as they are apparently a human-offshoot.

Wow, great list! There seem to be an uncomfortable number of brain/mind eaters . . .

Indeed! 40k needs some killer-brain aliens too..the khrave sound like they'd fit.

Personally I visualise an army that looks like "mother brain" from metroid, the spiderdemons from the old Doom games...and floating giant brains on mechanical spinal-chords for troops...hmmmm..if only Forge world werent so ***** and did cool stuff like that

    ---

anyhow, I ordered Rogue Trader : Edge of the Abyss, which features the fluff on the new RAK'GOL, apparently there is artwork too - so I will scan that in when I get it - to add here

to be fair, I dont particularly like either of them. the former looks kinda goofy, while the latter looks like a slightly lamer tyranid to me..oh well..
