This damn website cut out my photos. They were on the screen, all 3 of them, and when I went back into this thread they were gone.

*&&^%GVHH and a few more nasty words.

For miniatures go to Iron Wind Metals or Ral Partha Europe. For rule books, try Catalyst Games - Official Classic battletech web site

Still peeved off that the photos I posted are gone. 902 miniatures in 10 Classic Battletech Armies.

After doing a bit of work, I found some old Battletech books and stuff up at http://www.frpgames.com/cart.php?skip=0&m=product_list&c=22. There's a link to minis if you need it.

By the way, anyone recognize this thing? It looks awesome!

The miniature you want recognised looks like a resculpted Karnov Vtol. It could be a new miniature for one of the vehicle classications they created in the new Battletech update. a WIGE - Wing in ground effect hover tank, but I think it looks more VTOL.

I recommend you look up Iron Wind Metals online store and check out the vehicle section for VTOLS.

I am trying to get back into Battletech right now. If you go to the Catalyst website you can buy all the books from there.

I was shocked at the pricing. I think it's $45 for the rule book wich isn't too bad, but to buy it in PDF format it's only $15. WTF!

You can't beat that price. With all the complaints GW gets for not having their books in PDF, well these guys books are in PDF format if you like and for fractions of the price that it would be in paper format.

So getting into BT is not that pricey. If you don't want to use minis you do not have to. But you can use the if you like too.

So much cheaper than GW games that is for shure. I also like you can use the rules of what ever you want. Basic advanced what ever.

Also they give the beginer rules for free off their website. You can't go wrong when a company gives out their rules for free.

Scroll down to the bottom to get the free quick set rules for free.

Their home page is here

I loved BT and I am glad that I can play by using the free rules and worry about buying later. I strongly recomend it to try. It's not on a big scale as 40K is usually 4-12 mechs vs 4-12 mechs.

Hours and hours of fun. They even give you paper cut outs you can print and cut out to use as mechs.
What is the most important rule? That we should do whatever the hell we want, but preferably in the best interests of Games workshop when possible? :P Ill go with that

I came across the old ruleset c.1990 and almost fainted at the complexity. I guess that's one of those things that makes more sense once you play it, right?

Also, I'm thinking about playing Clan Ghost Bear, but can't find a codex-y thing. Help!

Still, the actual game and the story is fun enough for me. I'm planning on buying a Word Of Blake Shadow Division Command II sometime soon, just for the fun of it. I'm thinking an Archangel, Highlander, Legacy, Mad Cat, Deva, and Crab. Now I just need to pick which division...
Camospecs online has pictures of the cammo schemes for some of the WOB shadow Divisions. The 52nd varies the most from conventinal WOB/Comstar colour schemes. It has a bold red upper body with the lower half blending from Dark Grey at the waist to Black near the feet. It has gold highlights.

Some pics of my collection if they stay this time, enjoy. I put them on photobucket and hope this works.

Ahh, my first love of gaming. I got the box set back in the early 80's and started a small collection. That grew into a larger collection that my mom got rid of when I was in the service. So I started over and built my collection to a size larger than I had before, then I got married. Needless to say I lost my toys durring the divorce. I now have 350+ Mechs, 100+ tanks, apcs, vtols and artillery pieces, 20 Aerospace fighters, 10 Dropships, 2 Stars of Toads and an assortment of infantry. I've picked up all of the avaliable map packs and have all of the books including some used book store finds of the original 3050 and 3055, giving me all the versions of those books. I've also managed to pick up some of the "lawsuit" mechs, the stuff I started with back in the day.

I also have all the Mech Warrior RPG books, 1st, 2nd and 3rd edition. I played in a Mech Warrior, Battletech campaign that met weekly for a bit over two years. I got my kids into the game, and still manage to get in a few games at my FLGS with some friends. Once you get into the gamne you can never get out it seems.

For those that will ask I don't have pics, I don't have a digital camera and don't really plan on getting one. Maybe one day.

Wow, that is a massive minis collection. Classic BT takes me back. I remember the days of duking it out with light mech lances with my Kurita Sword of Light Panther.

Good times
