"Get's Hot" form walkers

My game group says that I have to roll with my Sentinels for plasma cannon shots and if failed I take no damage but just cannot shoot. I disagree with this interpretation of the rules. What do you think?

If they're trying to make you role "gets hot!" note that the last line under the rule staes "...weapons on vehicles are not affected by this rule."

So no, just roll deviation as usual and have the page (31 in the AoBR mini-book) ready.

FYI - The page numbers up to the standard mission special rules are the same in either rulebook.

And vehicles don't make "Get's Hot" checks in 5e (unless their Codex specifically requires them to do so).

I've had people argue that point with me, then when it's pointed out to them (with both rulebooks) continue to insist that only the "Big Book" should ever be used. Always good just to point out which printing of the rules is being refered to.
